Plus if she hits him and he hits her back........ who is the big bad abuser? You know that the guy is going to get raked over the coals for "hitting a poor women". And thats always a factor with decent guys, women know they can hit you without getting hit back. People will even sometimes just see it as an independent strong women "teaching the man right".

The double standards are bullshit.

That's sort of what I'm getting at though. It's always "Oh poor woman!" Which, imo, only validates them as victims. Which is fucking stupid.

lmfao, i don't believe women or men should get beat for any reason at all. ok so calm down.

but ffs, if the woman is staying in a relationship where there is any kind of abuse, then im sorry she's a dumb bitch & doesn't know how to respect herself.

adults don't use being drunk as an excuse for their actions.

if it happens once, it will happen again end of story.

bitch needs to have some self worth and not accept that treatment no matter what sorry.

true. i just know that shit happens and alcohol can bring out some nasty sides in people that are otherwise controlled when sober. so if a guy gets cranky and abusive when he drinks, then he needs to stop drinking and go to counselling. if he makes a big effort like that and promises it'll never happen again, then i'd stick with him through counselling and stuff. obviously if i don't see any changes, i'd peace out.

Unless they don't suck dick.

Posted by BTG on May-05-2009 21:54:

there's nothing wrong with an open hand slap to the face when the bitch gets crazy.

that's my irrelevant statement.

Posted by Dervish on May-05-2009 21:54:

Yeah I understand, it's complex. Think freak is right though, to an extent, happens once and gets let off... it'll happen again.

Posted by elFreak on May-05-2009 21:55:

if the guy gets cranky and abusive when he drinks, it means it is in his character.

fuck counseling, fixer uppers are better left for losers like krypton.

why be with someone unless they are everything you want in a person. Life is too short to waste with fucking losers that have issues.

Spot on.

So we're all in agreement that bitches deserve a good smack to the face then? Good. I'm glad we agree.

Posted by elFreak on May-05-2009 22:03:

i would probably be less judgmental with a younger girl who did not know better yet, but sadly i see more women in their 30's put up with this shit.

my gf can kick my ass, i can't do this shit

stupid mui thai lessons

Should I close this thread then? No wait, I want to wait for Theresa to come in here and get all uppity first.

Posted by Slylee on May-05-2009 22:05:

i was with a drunk asshole for almost 3 years. doing coke every weekend helped though lol he got violent with me in the beginning and it was out of nowhere. he would just randomly pick a fight and grab my phone from me and be like, "who the fuck is this" so finally i was like fuck this i'm out, and he begged me to come back and admitted to taking steriods behind my back and basically he was having horrible roid rages. i gave it another shot and he never got that way again. he was still a prick, but in other ways lol

For one, those of you who are screaming (yukii) that a girl who stays in an abusive relationship is a dumb bitch - until you've been there, shut your goddamn mouth.

An abusive relationship is a touchy subject, but they usually develop over time. A person can be with someone for years before they start showing signs of abuse - and even when they do, it's so gradual you barely notice. A fight that got out of control here, words that were said there, and then *bam* it happens, you get pushed down. You're not really sure if it's an accident or not or what exactly happens and that's where it all starts. Once you're in there and that person starts getting control of your life, it is VERY hard to get out - because before the hitting starts, there's already been a lot of mental abuse.

A girl who gets the shit beat out of her, ends up in the hospital, and THEN goes back is a fucking idiot. One who isn't really sure what's happening is just scared. Once you finally get out of that situation though, one of two things happen - #1 you find an equally as abusive schmuck (which at that point, you are a moron and deserve the beating) or #2 you get a little therapy to get you to understand what happened and then continue on with normal and healthy relationships (hopefully) from that standpoint on.

I do think it is worth mentioning, however, how long that cycle takes to develop and how utterly terrifying it is the day that you wake up and realize what happened.

And how long did it take you to get to #2?

Posted by squirrelly on May-05-2009 22:09:

Oh, please. Your reaction would have been quite different if you have so do us all a favor and go suck your boyfriends dick.

And Bas, 5 years.

There's actually a couple that I care for, and I can tell that he's very controlling/emotionally abusive in their relationship. :/

Posted by squirrelly on May-05-2009 22:10:

That sucks Jenny The worst part is, you can try and talk sense into your friend again and again and again - but until she reaches her breaking point, she'll never listen. She has to come to it in her own time. :/

Posted by elFreak on May-05-2009 22:11:

in redneck culture it is acceptable for some reason i guess. No offense squirrely, but just because you were dumb enough to put up with that shit does not make you smarter for it.

If you went back, you are an idiot no matter what the excuse. Did you end up being with him forever? No...therefore what was the fucking point. Good riddance, i don't need to have been beaten to express that.
