Sander's set was fierce for the short amount time that he played. It was everything that I was expecting from the guy. But I was really pissed off that he been here for like a year, and he comes and plays a shorter set than he did the last time.

I would of thought that he would of gave a little bit more this time around since he hadn't been here for so long. This was my first time seeing this guy, even though I've been following his work since 2004. But, from what I heard, the last time when he played Webster Hall he played for 3 hours.

Honestly when he walked off after 2 hours I felt like I was being cheated. A guy with a big name like his shouldn't be coming to an important city like NY and playing for only that long. It's disappointing because he's one of my favorite Dj's. I love his sound and I really liked the way he works the crowd, I was feeling his vibe.

But its like if Tiesto came to NY and only played for 3 hours just for one night. It's the kind of shit that just makes me furious What I'm wondering is who decides how long these guys play for, their management or the promoter? Does anyone know the answer to this question?

i think, that for some producers/djs, its in their contract that they get paid for playing X amt of hours. but i could be wrong on that.

yeah the 2 hrs 15 minutes is a bit short...esp for someone that has been coming here regularly

What a SICK night of music. Sander and Zack DESTRYOED the place from beginning to end. not a single moment of boring toonage.

Drank way too much, we were all a bunch of drunken, happy idiots, but FFS getting to VIP at 10:30 after a few drinks pregame was a bad idea, leading to a very bad saturday!! hahaha! Love all you guys, was the most fun i've had partying in NYC in AGES. LOOVVE SANDERRRRR!!!! <3 <3 off the HOOK!!

Posted by phoenixBEBE on May-10-2009 19:22:

def sounded like a GREAT night. glad everyone had FUN!!!

Posted by chimera66 on May-10-2009 23:53:

for those who mentioned his short set i really don't think he plays for longer than 3hrs maximum. i didn't go to this particular show but the ones i went to in the past were on the shorter side of things. glad to hear zack rocked it, although that is to be expected .

if thats really how he normally is, then i don't think ill go to see him again...despite him totally tearing the place apart. what he did play was sick

madagascar (richard durand remix) is pure sex

Well that's the same thing I'm debating. I'm not sure if I'll see go to to see go to see him anymore either.

Ya, that song is redic!!! that is definately what I look forward to when i go to a club...hearing some new hot shit music i haven't heard before.....unfortunately, that doesnt happen much any more. I think that's because most DJ's seem to have a radio show and play all their new stuff on the show first. my 2 cents.

I have the first 10 mins of Sander's set on video up top. What track u guys talking about?

Friday night was soo much fun! It was great to see all you guys out and having such a good time (Mere and Kelly you little boozers you, lol). It was a long night for me, got there around 9:30 and closed it out. I actually love this, it's really cool to see an empty dancefloor fill up and to see all the diehards at the end of the night lol.

Anyway, thought Zack did a great job opening things up, towards the end of his opening set he played some great songs (which i will be stealing). Musically, for me this was my favorite part of the night. I thought SVD played some really great stuff, banged it out for sure! He also just seems to love what he does and I think that really shines through in his entertaining, what a nice guy!

As promoters we have seen tons of dj contracts and to be completely honest most have djs playing a set of 2-3 hours. I know this may range more so for big trance guys but it's not completely uncommon. From what I have heard he always plays in this 2-3 hour range. As for the tag teaming...Zack went on after Sander and I think Sander maybe realized he wanted to play a few more tracks and so he did!

I have some great vids I will post later today!

haha, well after he got off and a few tracks into my closing set, Sander came back down into the booth and was just hanging out, smiling, dancing a little. I just got the impression that he wanted to play a bit more so I kind of motioned towards the mixer and gave him this little nod, and he gave me this look like "really?! you don't mind?! I can play some more?!"

"Hell yeah Sander, lets do it!" haha.

So, he ended up playing a few more tracks as am encore sort of. He was such a cool guy, and I don't think he was in any rush to get off in a hurry. It was a short set, yes, but its tough to not give him the benefit of the doubt. He may have not been feeling well, he may have had an early ass flight that morning. Who knows. He did bring a lot of energy to his set though, and totally killed it while he was on.

Either way, it was an absolute blast playing with the guy, and playing for that crowd. So many damn familiar faces out and about Friday too. Definitely can't wait to do it again.

Wow, what a wicked prog set Zack. I'm gutted that I missed it -- I'll definitely pass the setlist along to Arthur, Invisible Sounds, and Aeron. Thanks for supporting these tracks, brother.
