Meh, video evidence from last year's Ultra & Love Parade clearly renders that opinion null and void, so either they're just not what you're looking for, or the French caused problems.

The French often make everything suck.

Besides, I've seen 'em 3 times & they've completely owned all each & every time.

Whatever. If you like cheesy overplayed songs with bad voice-overs, or even worse singing, then go.

Everything else at that festival was wicked except for Underworld.

Your absence was noted and recorded for yesterday.

From what I have seen of videos, the singing can be hit and miss, as it is with most electronic bands. But to me Karl Hyde's voice seems to lend itself to being 'a bit off'. It works for their sound.

Tuesday 11th August 2009 is my THIRTY FIRST birthday holy fuckaduck!!!

Well, that settles it.

This is going to be a hell of a party.

Looks like August 12th will be a poorly attended workday for many a TA.

Did you not like the new album? Did they not play much from it?

Well I think the point of going to see Underworld is to hear their older songs. It's a concert not a DJ set. I wouldn't go see Depeche Mode / Metallica / Pearl Jam / Daft Punk / whomever and say they sucked because they played all of their old hits. People go to concerts to hear the songs that made the band famous. I don't even know what songs of theirs are overplayed either (besides Born Slippy). I never hear their tracks when I go out.

re: quality of the production. Again it's a concert, I don't know many bands that sound as good as they do live as they do on a studio recording. And it an extreme rarity that a band sounds better live then they do on a studio recording.

It has been way too long since these guys last played here. Last show they did here was the most fun I ever had at Kool Haus, beat any EDM I have ever gone to still. Every TA should attend this, you'll dance your ass off, that is a promise.

^ what he said.

Regardless of what Graham says, their last performance @ Koolhaus was the best live electronic act I've ever seen (beating Daft Punk/ Chemical Brothers, Prodigy and even Orbital).

amen brother! I never experienced such unity at any gig ever, the best vibe ever...and I do mean ever. Once they dropped Dirty Epic for the first time...oh lord!
