I kept my original Lego set seperate from the Technic sets because they were different styles. One day, my mom decided just to combine everything into one big box. When I saw this after school that day, I experienced my first long-held grudge. I didn't talk to my mother for 24 hours LOL!

I over 20,000 pieces (yes, I counted...damn OCD) and I would spend entire afternoons creating random buildings, cars, mazes, etc. I even made a car for my sister's pet rat with one of my Technic sets. That was a one-time thing since that little ****** shat all over the passenger compartment.

That sounds awesome.

The Lego Technic sets were great, I built a submarine that had a little rover and motorized things! It had red lights on it! I was so proud when I finished it

Like Myra, we used to build a gigantic cities complete with the road pieces. It would have a police station, fire dept, gas station, repair shop, sooooooo much stuff!

To this day, everytime I'm in a store with a toy dept, I have to check out the Lego section.

that's what i did w/ the old school motorcity matchbox cars.

So you caught lizards and tadpoles in the winter? Like every kid I was outside all summer long, but winters and shit were always spent inside building legos

oh man lego was awesome haha i miss it.

i used to have this like big plane lego set thing and like a set of lego emergency workers/vehicles. i would build the plane and then throw it on the floor so it broke into bits and then pretend it was a plane crash and have the the emergency workers come and save all the little lego men (some with body parts missing!) that were drowning in the lake it had crashed into.

I had a shit ton of Blacktron and Space Police! They were so awesome.

I think Mario's just upset because Lego wasn't available in his 3rd world country, he had to settle for Mega Blocks.

Obviously, that was a thinly veiled insult.

Mega blocks were so shitty, it was like even the plastic itself wasn't lego quality. But aren't the instructions all pictures anyway?

Aw man. Legos were one of the reasons being the youngest kid was awesome. My older sister wasn't too into them, but my half sister (bout 12 years older than me) loved em as a kid, so my parents kept them around for me, and they were from back when there was no kit to make anything, there was just a metric shit ton of bricks. Imagine a tupperware container about 3 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet, the big storage ones. We had about 3 of those filled with random bricks and then some, plus the kits they got me. Plus like flat squares with various road shapes on them so you could make a town and shit, and some that were the moon and had little craters. All my towns bordered the moon

man i love lego, it was the reason why i got into architecture.
