No, I saw him at a Rex Club showcase at the Nuits Sonores festival in Lyon.

I will never forget that night in my life. He fucking murdered the place like I've seen very few other DJs do.

I would agree.
A lot of people will come out of the wood work for mills, myself included!

Posted by PivotTechno on May-14-2009 16:47:

Yeah, I don't go out very often, but I'll be out for this - Mills when he's on is something to witness.

Now we just have to get Traxx on the same bill so I don't feel so bad about having to miss the Detroit version on May 24.

Yeah, that's the one...

Now what I'm not getting is how all of this is going to fit together. I saw the full flyer somewhere today and Mills seems to be sandwiched between stuff like Crystal Castles, Cut Copy, A-Trak, Flosstradamus and a bunch of other relatively mainstream acts. I'm sure that it's well sorted, but I'm really hoping he's given his full due with a solid support lineup and slotted to play for a good 2.5 to 3 hours.

Joey Beltram, perhaps.

Can you guys PLEASE change the venue back to Sunnyside Pavillion..? pretty please..?

If it didnt rain last year we wouldnt have to move it inside, but we are going to make Soumnd Academy look amazing and think its better to party all night

the government of China used cloud dispersal rockets during the Beijing Olympic games to ensure adequate weather conditions at the opening ceremonies.

Something similar could be attempted for TIME festival:

what the eff, this event is at night now? that's disappointing.

Posted by tobywan on May-15-2009 13:12:

With an 8pm start that means the potential for a killer sunset...

with like 2 people there to see it

Posted by CODE on May-15-2009 13:56:

okay let me clarify,
Yes the event is at Night...and I think its much better this way.
We can go louder and alot longer. Sunnyside is a great venue but
unfortunately this event is too big for Sunnyside and Sunnyside has
factors with the weahter....when you have someone like mills on the Bill you dont want to have any chance of any problems. Plus
the system that Mills will play on would not be allowed at Sunnyside.
Sounnd Academy is the best Venue for this type of Super Party.

The Festival is basically divided into 4 stages/Rooms.
Each room has a different sound and the right people incharge
of how it runs and is promoted. Its the proper way to it right.

The Techno Room will have the following people.

Jeff Mills -3 hours+ extended set-
Jamie Kidd
Kenny Glasgow
Nitin Vs Jonny White
Brandon Sek
Jeff Button
and Terence Kissner.

We purposely booked only Mills as Headliner because we want him
to be able to play as long as he wants and do whatever he wants.
We want everyone to have the proper Mills experience.

Mills will Educate. Especially the people that have never seen him before....

I am intrigued for some new music to my ears...

...and Farina....

Posted by CODE on May-15-2009 14:06:

and really who the fuck is better than Farina in the Chill/Patio room.

Posted by Skipper on May-15-2009 14:49:

Daytime events were run at Sound Academy every Sunday for quite some time. I wasn't thinking the event would be at Sunnyside, that much is obvious...way too big. and wouldn't it be easier to run a big loud event during the day as opposed to all night?? (re. islanders)

Seriously though, Toronto needs more big time, day time events. I dunno about anyone else, but I was really looking forward to hearing a sunset set from Mills after a full afternoon of solid music and sunshine. Ah well, maybe next year you'll go back to the daytime format..count me out for this one though.

+1 .. or at least those with some EDM elements

I was looking at the musical programming for such summer public events as Luminato, Globl Grooves @ Yonge and Dundas Square, etc. and aside from say the World Routes festival at Harbourfront Centre, there's quite a glaring lack of EDM representation..
