Korea korea korea .....WHAT???????????????

Ok italy have not played a good match roday (even if better the the other one they have played ) but today they had to win ....your korean are just very lucky and our italian are just unlucky and ,i'm sorry but i have to say it ,also stupid ! Because we had the match in the hans and we lose it to make the first ladies!!!
I didn't like how both the team played ....but honstely italy played better ......

With the spain ?????the korea will lose !!! i'm sure of it at 100% ! because Spain kick ass and korea didn't even know what it's playing soccer.......
i don't have nothing of personnaly aginst the korean but you guys can't say that Korea it's a good team!!!!

Posted by Damo on Jun-18-2002 23:08:

italy has been getting jobbed the entire tourney... no one wants to see them win... an ignorant red card,a moronic offside call (among several in the tourney), and a penalty shot awarded in the first 5 minutes spells bullshit... kudos to korea and all.. i think it's great for the game overall to have untraditional teams winning but not at the expense of the azzuri , you assheads... christ, i can't even wait for the next euro cup, and 2006 for the next world cup seems so far away...

bad luck + bad coaching + bad refereeing = lose

The only thing that italy cuold do was to make 4 goals so they did have the vittory for sure.....

miss e i will say this once more...korea has the same skill level of my team...take it from a person who has been playing soccer since he was 4 has been thru 5 different training camps and has played with some of the best players in Canada....Korea is s h i t...the only reason why they made it this far is because theyre hosting the world cup this year....every team that has ever hosted the cup has made it to the quarterfinals...and dont say its homefield advantage because thats bullshit if u suck u suck...u will suck at home and u will suck at away games...if the host team doesnt make it passed the 1st and 2nd round the country wont give a shit anymore...its all abt $$... and trapatonni is an idiot for taking out del piero and putting gusto

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jun-18-2002 23:35:

Theres always one ain't there.

D Edge let me put it this way Laddy I don't like seeing people boast and rubbing it in so coming here saying my opinion to them and to whole of footie fans on this site makes some difference and at least think maybe someone can prove me wrong and create a debate about things.

I.e on why I think they've been biased. Portugal V Korea, Beto on a first yellow card goe's into to tackle a Korean player on the wing fair enough Beto misses the ball slightly, but he doesn't even make contact with the player, who dives as if a fucking bombs gone off behind him, second yellow for Beto who gets the red and is sent off.

Also look my flags Eire I don't support the big teams.

boasters suck
but ignorants are worser off

its one opinion out of thousands and no matter what theres no conclusion to this.
you keep on thinking bout how much italians rule over koreans etc etc...you and vivid both. not good enough to play with italians..shit gimme a godamn break

but lets face it youre just pissed that your FAVORITE team wahtever lost..cause if italy had won...you woulda been fucking bragging

where as i would have congratulated you...and maybe this coulda been a less personal thread

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jun-18-2002 23:51:

Trancer how can i put this....korea's soccer has not improved dramatically...Japan however has improved alot and i was routing for them and was disappointed that they lost to the US because they are a far better team...japan is a way better team then korea...Korea is nothing when it comes to world cup but you know what all the power to them...the only good thing i can see from this whole thing is that soccer will be taken alot more seriously in korea and maybe now some good leagues will start to develop...i wish the same would happen in Canada but nobody wants to invest the money in this game over here so im forced to play on fields with ditches and bumps the size of crators...

no offense miss e but if italy won today i wouldnt even had replied in a thread abt it...because it wouldnt have been no big deal...no 2 i dont brag abt my fav team...Italy isnt even my fav team this year i was routing for japan ( i loved watching them play) and germany... so dont flatter urself i just replied because i watched my home team get screwed because of bad refereeing and bad coaching and it really pissed me off when i saw the fifa heads behind that glass shrugging and gloating like almost saying "eh i aint gonna do anything ur fucked" and the fact u guys feel the need to rub things in to ppls faces also pissess me off

Posted by Dj O'Callaghan on Jun-18-2002 23:57:

Well I suppose 5 world cups of getting panned is a different story and then doing well world cup.

All I'm saying is the boasting and rubbing it in winds some people up, I'm not being ignorant or rude, I don't see English fans doing this in chillout I don't see the Germans too, or the Turks, or the Brazilians.

Posted by Damo on Jun-19-2002 00:02:

however you want to put this.. it was a fluke and a big shock... Ahn (the goalscorer) was crying after he put it in... that's how big of an upset it was... korea is no where near italy class-wise... but that's why they play the games.. anything can happen... and it did... no point in arguing about it... good luck korea...

Heh. I was hoping to see Italy in the Final, but congratulations anyhow.

Posted by dJohn on Jun-19-2002 00:14:

I'll admit...I think it was an upset...but Korea is where theya re right now, and Italy lost today...it comes down to that doesn't it? You can only IMAGINE what COULD'VE happened...
as for those people who say that korea is lucky...they wouldn't be here just based on luck. Quit whining about how Korea doesn't deserve to be where they are right now. You talk about luck, look at the U.S...RELYING on another team's WIN, not scoring, but WIN to advance next.
U.S soccer is the MTV of sports...all of a sudden, they revamped and got a good program, so all the U.S 'fans' are behind them and rallyingand jumping on the bandwagon...so appararent and ...I love the U.S team my self(being an Asian American) and I'll root for the U.S as long as they don't face Korea(in which case I'll root for Korea of course)
It comes down to who won or not. Korea won. Face it. It might have been because of bad calls, but it wasn't entirely dependent on that...what it comes down to, like I will say again, is who wins, and what THAT comes down to is who played a better game.
Note I said that 'who played a better game.' Korea is inferior to Italy in terms of skill, of course, but just like the U.S is inferior to Mexico, they won...because they played a better game.
Go Korea! Pil-Seung!Fighting!

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jun-19-2002 00:28:

but the thing is korea did play a good game but italy played a better one..oh well im gonna leave this thread with this u win some u lose some...money talks....everygame in this whole fifa world cup is set up to make the most profit they can...its the best way to boost a countries ecnomoy....#1 best way is war #2 best way is world wide sporting events

1st of all japan lost and korea won....and they were both hosting world cup, which means they both had equal supports.
so how can japan be better? and if korea did suck...then ur just putting it in a way that italy, portugal, and poland are the suckers that lost to the sucks

Soccer is becoming more and more about politics these days, no one can deny that...

You can't say that Italy lost only because of bad refereeing, just like you can't blame the ref for Portugal's final loss...
Each team made their mistakes... all Portugal wanted was a tie, so what do they do? Kill some time by passing the ball back and forth in their zone at the end of the first half. They end up losing it.
Italy has a one-goal lead, so they start playing strictly defensively, not trying for any more goals, thinking they're in the clear. Wrong again, Korea comes back and wins it.

Then again, both games had very questionable calls. Did Portugal really deserve two red cards? The first card was borderline, but the second was ridiculous. But had Portugal been playing to win instead of playing to tie, they might have had a goal to show for it.
Italy's red was far from deserved as well. Some say they both got ripped off, others say it was all fair game.

One can't help but admit that there was at least some bias in both of those games, especially with thousands of koreans cheering on their home team.

But hey, that's the world cup for you. This same discussion happens once every 4 years
