such a beaner...

btw, not all oysters are created equal. i like the firm oysters found in cold waters. the ones we find in atlanta for $5/dozen are gulf oysters.

Good thread idea. Seafood is fucking... the best. Being originally from New England and from a Portugese family, seafood was a constant for me since I can remember. Each time I go back up, first place I go is Newport, RI and get some swordfish fresh off the boat. Fucking fantasic.

Posted by PoisonJam19 on May-21-2009 16:31:

I think swordfish still has to be my favorite fish, especially blackened.

I made the bestest pasta evar the other night!

Shrimp, scallops & fresh lobster sauteed in green onions, mushrooms, spinach, zucchini, broccoli & wine and then added some creamy (not thick) alfredo sauce.

Posted by PoisonJam19 on May-21-2009 16:40:

That sounds amazing.

Posted by Slylee on May-21-2009 16:46:

i made seafood stuffed salmon filets last night. they come prestuffed but i did a honey teryaki sauce with it and a ritz cracker crust and baked in the oven. it was delish...and so is ALL seafood. it's one of my favorite types of food.

sarah i do something similar with linguine, shrimp & scallops. just plain olive oil, butter, garlic, lemon juice, and white wine for the sauce, then i add the shrimp, scallops and fresh baby spinach leaves and toss with linguine. oh yea i sprinkle some bread crumbs over the shrimp & scallops when they're in the sauce too. it's so good and everyone is always really impressed when i make it. and be generous with the garlic if you try it

Seafood is one of the few things I could eat every day and never get tired of it. So damn good.

Alright, if/when I meet you, you are cooking. That is all. lol

Np, I told you - I'm a desperate housewife at heart lol I LOVE cooking for people! I can't ever really give anyone a "recipe" cause it changes just a little every time I cook... which makes people mad!

Posted by nchs09 on May-21-2009 16:58:

Here in the south.. shrimp and scalloped gritz is 100% win.

Some pics of seafood plates from my country...
How do you guys like your seafood?

Peruvian cuisine in general is simply fantastic. From all the Latin-American countries it's by far the best. Favorites:

Aji de Gallina
Ceviche Peruano
Papas a la Huancaina
Causa da Camarones

And I looooooove Pisco Sour

There is nothing better than a big fat piece of raw tuna. DELISH!

All this talk made my lean cuisine for lunch seem... rather stale.
