We should get a round-eye cycle going for a minute.

Im still trying to picture what goes on in someone like ferry's head when he gazes out and sees long la bamba line dance forming while he play's made of love.

Most of the time the washers are just two people hugging each other, swaying back and forth... that conga line is ridiculously long.

no offense to all other asians, this is why that particular group are called washers.

LOL, we call them "skasians". Just go to the local scene for Toronto, there usually is a mention of these guys always in event reviews.

I find the smaller, exclusive clubs usually filter these guys out. But at Guvernment here, they come out in droves.

Posted by DaveT on Jun-03-2009 20:28:

The washing machines are like drunk ass people trying to the twist as hard as they can. It's quite violent lol

Didn't some TA's already did this and took a picture of it?

Posted by bscarbro on Jun-03-2009 21:38:

It's funny how when the phrase "Washing Machine" comes up it takes over the thread.

Posted by Lostvission on Jun-03-2009 22:27:

you have outsiders to blame for this one.

Posted by DJ RANN on Jun-03-2009 22:34:

Wait there needs to be some more definition of "Washers" - It doesn't need to actually be more than one person - I believe the infamous conga pic is actually a "laundry".

At avalon last time, I saw one washer showing another one some "moves" on the floor and my friend commented that he was "teaching him how to wash". I swear to god I nearly suffocated so hard from laughing. Wish I had got a photo of it.

Talking of aliens....someone has to up the (legendary) photo of ET!!!!

Posted by freakster on Jun-04-2009 02:19:

I don't think people down in socal realize how good they got it. there are a bunch of clubs and great djs going on every weekend, almost every night of the week.

I'm from further north and there's jack shit going on up there these days.

I got thrown into it a few years ago when PVD was at the Mayan. That was back when Kfrogger and Randy were still around. They told some guy I wanted a light show (as a joke...without my knowledge), so the guy comes up to me and starts doing his thing and then they started washing me, my other friends saw and started washing me too. I think there are some pictures around of me surrounded by like 4 guys, mid-wash while getting a lightshow

First I must clarify: GLOW and Panorama Productions are NOT moving to Orange County. It just so happens that much of the same team that helped to build GLOW into the weekly mega party it is today, are now living here and want to build up the scene the same way they did in back East.

As for HEAT, well things rapidly deteriorated due to unwillingness of ownership and promoters that had ulterior motives. I will not get into details, but we did enjoy our month there. The venue certainly isn't perfect and we'll leave it at that.

Why OC and not Hollywood? Well, frankly there is just nothing quite like what we are setting out to accomplish in OC. Focus, Red (ok, not too bad), Heat, Sutra (yeah..no comment there) it's just not a great scene. Yes, it's better than many other regions in the country, but it certainly has issues. Hollywood will be more difficult for parking, venue availability, and will consistently mean longer nights for all of us OC based people involved.

You probably don't have any of that (washing machines) in Charlotte because you're in Charlotte. =P What's the Asian population there?

do you even know that there only one Asian ethnicity who dances that way?

ergo, you could have the highest concentration of Asians in Charlotte but if not that specific Asian segment, no one will still dance the washing machine.

OMG you won't ever be the same once you witness the Washing machine.

And I have to add that I am by no means racist when I say this (my boyfriend is Chinese and feels the same way) .... but without further ado. . . .

- The Washing Machine -

for some reason on the west coast, LA and OC mostly, but these older asian folk can be seen on the bay of SF as well....

Imagine two people your parents age popping x, sniffing k, or swigging a capful of g, then going toward the middle of the dancefloor-near a speaker- or off in a dark corner. Then the male will place arms or hands on shoulders of the woman or they will join hands at an arms length and proceed to shake themselves senseless to the beat in a washing machine motion. They look possesed if you ask me, and it is very disconcerting to people who at least try to hide their high and enjoy the music.

Needless to say once you experience the washingmachine you will never be the same again!

Will the venue in the OC be able to stay open past 2AM? I think that's the major + for Hollywood vs OC for many people.

So has anyone clarified what an "E puddle" is for these guys or is that one pretty self explanatory.

You won't really get much of that at the clubs in Hwood. Avoid EDC like the plague, though!
