Comparing the batting specifically however, I do think that baseball is more one dimensional than cricket. To open yourself up to take a full swing in cricket is very risky thing to do, and the 360 versus 90 degrees of hitting space allows for more possibilities. But then again, you got elements strategic bunts and gaps for base hits in baseball as well, plus strategic baserunning.

I definitely agree with you about the batting. I'm still learning the nuances of cricket, but I know enough to enjoy following the sport.

Why do you call a home run a six? Fucking Brits.

it's worth six runs. Why a 'home' run?

Posted by Zharen on Jun-14-2009 22:03:

Because when you hit it to the stands, the batter runs through all 3 bases then back to "Home" plate. Thus, a Home Run.

And equally so, when we hit it into the stands, its worth six runs, hence a six. Now we're all happy.. Except Omega M, he didn't expect to lose to us.

i thought this was a cricket thread, but then found out you were talking 20/20 instead.

I watch a bit of this stuff as it's on late in the evening here, but when the tests in SA or UK are on I'll probably be up until 3am watching most days.
Last ashes series in england was awesome, followed by a very dissappointing return series in oz.

is there a steroids problem in cricket? probably not, you pussies. if you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'!

so true. Test match is the true ultimate skills form of the game. T20 is funny but nothing beats the attrition and real test of ability tests bring.

Also agree on the last series down under. Fletcher made some really unpopular choices and we totally fucked it up

Terrible list. Misses out Australia but includes Canada where the only people paying cricket are Indian immigrants. Better luck next time, tub.

it's easy to miss them out. Very easy. But one team missed out in my list doesn't make your argument about baseball being better true. Nothing does.

If you are going to list Canada as a cricket playing country you might as well just paste in a list of every country in the world, especially ones with any significant South Asian immigrant population.

Canada has a MLB team, so if anything it's more a baseball than cricket country (but it isn't really either).

Ur the most ignorant ALT ever, havent i busted u once before? and u dont even know what ur arguing about, ur arguing about baseball > cricket or what list canada should be on? either way canada is really insignificant in both the sports. So stop being a troll and shoo away from my thread.

You call me an alt yet I've been a member twice as long as you, so that doesn't really make sense.

Next time if you could actually read my post before responding that would be great. Because all I said is that Canada isn't really either a baseball or cricket nation but out of the two baseball is clearly bigger.

I have no idea what your true age is but your mental age seems to be about four, so perfect for TA then.
