Awesome!

And what's with all the bashing?! He's having an insane amount of fun and so is the crowd. That's the whole purpose of a party and I always pity those who apparently can only enjoy themselves when just the right DJ is playing just the right music in the perfect location with just the right type of crowd around. Seriously people, just reach for the damned lasers, scream like a madman and take off your sweaty shirt!

check out his amazing drum solo at 2:20 , i dont see why some of you have problems with the way he's acting, he's just enjoying himself, rolling on the good stuff, and by the sounds in the clip the crowd seems to be enjoying themself.

that's one of the worst songs I've ever heard. I'm not kidding.

Posted by trancedanne on Jun-18-2009 16:09:

hahahahaha that drum solo is fucking gold

Posted by TranceOwnsLol on Jun-18-2009 16:12:

hahahah holy shit this is hilarious

I love how he feels that he's Tiesto or Armin or something circa 2002 by dropping 'Strange World' after that Coldplay track.

He's like fat wannabe Tiesto.

Too many people in Holland still enjoy hardstyle

Why does the joy of others affects you in that way? Thought 'we' had no problem with that. Yeh, gabber and hardcore is still very alive and I'm no fan, but that doesn't hurt me a bit.

On topic.

Woody is brillant and I love the tracks he played. Yes, he looks and acts like a goofy idiot, but what the hell, everybody seems to like that. He actually acts like some of my crazy friends when we went out years ago.
He even wouldn't be noticed among the other crazy people at Sensation or Mysteryland in Holland or Love Parade in Germany. He remembers me of Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo

Things which are very accepted in some countries appearently still is shocking or not done in many others.

The world is not ready for Woody...

I would like two of whatever he is on and I would also like him to keep his shirt on next time!

It's not the joy of others that affects me.. it's the music. I don't like it, and it would be so much cooler if more people liked the music I like

You're Dutch, so you're probably very aware of what's hot in our country. On the one hand, we have Armin-trance and Dirty Dutch house (which is played on the radio) and on the other hand, we have lots of hardstyle and hardcore. Just look at the favorite genres on Partyflock (you've already said that, I know).

I like to hang out in my football club's clubhouse after trainings and matches. The music playing there is always one of these genres. I tried to introduce them to my favorite genres, but they just won't let me.

So it's not the music there of which I get my 'joy', as it is to others people. That doesn't hurt me, but the situation could be better, for me, that is

Yes, Dutch people are very hard to please.

I think every country's most popular styles of music are some of the worst. In the U.S. the charts are filled with awful pop and rap, plus stupid rock bands generally trying to do imitations of Nickelback or Linkin Park.

i'm pretty sure there is no country with worse musical taste than the united states

True, but that's our opinion. It's popular for a reason. We have our tastes and they have theirs. And there is no accounting for tastes.

But if the music we like could become popular, I'd be a happier person.

Then again.. I won't be underground anymore..

I see, experienced the same thing in the 90's when I started loving trance. Happy Hardcore and Eurodance you could be heard all day and everywhere, but some good trance, forget it.
Yep, it's a bit frustrating. For me it all got better when I was old enough to visit bigger clubs (also in Belgium) with more area's and met more people with the same taste. Also I started DJ-ing a bit, so was also able to play stuff I liked.
Fact is the majority of people have an average TOP40 taste. Below 20 indeed hardcore is very popular. I don't think you can change that.

I'm afraid you're right.

i'd much rather have armin trance on the radio than the shit they play on our radio

I have to admit, I've had my share of horrible tastes.

~11yo: happy hardcore
~13yo: eurodance
~15yo: rap/hiphop and hardstyle
~17yo: trance
~18yo: house
~20yo: progressive house/progressive
~21yo: 20yo and techhouse/techno
~22yo: 20/22yo and deephouse/nu-disco

At this very moment (23yo), I mix up almost everything which I listed from 20yo on. So for the kiddies that still listen to top 40 and hardcore, there's still hope.

And indeed, thank god I get to go to the better parties/events/clubs. I have two/three friends who frequent those nights with me, but I'm always the instigator. The just rely on me for it, and I've never let them down Sometimes I go by myself, if no one else is coming along.

Thank god for message boards like this. TA has really influenced my tastes.

I think when people say "that's so gay" or "what a fag" they are referring to Woody van Eyden's djing, not homosexuals.

That really depends on what you consider "the best music in the world."
