Nice to see Hewitt with the big upset over Frankenstein Del Mugro. Awesome.

i hate hewitt and wish he would just go away.

gulbis is looks to have played a tough second set against murray but andy is ahead two sets to one. gonzo and mayer are split a set a piece and 3-3 but hopefully gonzo can pull this off in four.

another easy match for venus this morning, so far so good for wimbledon #6

Murray looks invincible.

Gulbis isn't playing bad at all.

venus's match against Bondarenko wasn't too much of a pain for her, but I am questioning her knee, and if it is a bad injury or not. hopefully those appendages she was wearing were just hot pads to relax the muscles and ligaments around the knee.

Hmm Fed just lost a set to make it 2-1 to him. Ah it's interesting!

and is 3-0 up in the 4th

The good thing is Kohlshreiber isn't lying dead for Federer. Making it somewhat of a match. Federer just dominated the first 2 sets.

btw, if Federer does end up winning this match, next round is a Soderling-Federer rematch.

go Roger ! Nice match with Kohlshreiber

I like Tsonga but I like Karlovic more. The man serves like a machine

Posted by chimera66 on Jun-26-2009 16:06:

i wish i were watching this karlovic-tsonga match right now. stats tell me it must be an awesome match!!!

Posted by Azz3D on Jun-26-2009 16:13:

It was- 3 tie breaks . I'm happy Karlovic won

The guy is literally 90% serve, 10% baseline rallies and that's being generous . If he keeps up this service performance, he'll be a match for anyone, but without his serve, he'd be fighting it out in the Challengers circuit, he's that poor a player. Ivanisevic Wimbledon run 2001 anyone?

He's capable of beating Federer too. The only player that really knows how to handle his serve is Murray.

Been a good tournament so far minus Nadal, looking forward to the Soderling - Federer match on Monday. This 'People's Sunday' tradition is nonsense at Wimbers. They should play everyday in the fortnight.

agreed on the sunday bit, not fair all those who played today have two days off. as for big servers, i actually liked goran. the serve is a big part of the game so if your strenght lies there then so be it. if all he had was a serve he wouldn't be successful. i wish tsonga won though.

Oh yeah , Tsonga's an exciting player to watch, and his game is quite suited to the grass courts, unfortunately so is Ivo's. Karlovic is a decent player, but without his serve, he'd probably be top 300, not top 30-ish, it's that important a facet of his game.

Now that Hewitt put Del Potro firmly in his place, I'm hoping for a Roddick - Murray SF. That would be a pretty exciting match up.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Jun-27-2009 14:36:

come on. someone has to win between haas and cilic.

Posted by DJ_Eternal on Jun-27-2009 19:10:

Super performance by Murray. This guy was sublime today. 3rd set was Federer-esque. He's gonna take some stopping.

Posted by chimera66 on Jun-27-2009 19:14:

venus is safely through to the next week as are safina, ivanovic, murray and roddick. watched parts of the murray match and he's looking really good. i want him to win, roger can make history at the australian.

i wish espn's coverage extended to the gonzalez-ferrero match. that seems like it's a goodie! i hope gonzo pulls this off...

Jankovic later said she was ailing in part because of "woman problems."

"It's not easy being a woman, you know, sometimes," Jankovic said. "After the first set, I felt really dizzy, and I thought that I was just going to end up in the hospital. I started to shake. I was losing my, how you say, consciousness. ...

"I came back, like I started to feel a little bit better. But I was feeling quite weak. No power. I wasn't the same player."

Oh I don't doubt that it's somewhat debilitating, I just hadn't heard it mentioned before.
