basically i just listen to the beach boys these days, saves a lot of trouble
just like anything on the net, there is a lot of shit stuff, like porn for example. lot of crap out there but if you look hard enough you'll find quality gems, that's the same with beatport, women and anything else really =)
Jenny's right...you gotta put in the time to find the rare gems. That's part of the work that comes with wanting to be a DJ. How many times have you been at a club and a DJ drops a sic track you've never heard before and the place goes OFF? They don't go to a website called "They'veNeverHeardThisTrackBefore.com" and buy em up. It's the digital version of searching through old record cases, only you don't have to leave your bedroom or jammies.

Go to a record store and dig. A REAL record store. I am always amazed at how a track from 2000 that someone sold back to the store is hotter now than it was back then. You can always record it to a wav file yourself if you don't have the ability to play records.
At the Guv yesterday I heard quite a few "older" tracks being played and folks were getting DOWN to them.
Screw beatport. Go do your own thing so you don't sound like everyone else. Beatport is turing the DJ community into a bunch of radio stations playing the same tracks in different orders. I prefer to be the indie station doing my own thing.
I hardly ever shop for music anymore, but when I do, I find beatport increasingly overwhelming because there is just so much garbage on there. It's pretty easy to spend a few hrs on there and not come away with much that really grabs you - just the volume of new releases now is insane.
I think juno.co.uk sells digital now, maybe try there. I've always liked their selection.
i only buy in extreme cases but imo, pretty easy to find good tracks once you know what u r looking for.
Favorites feature is amazing. I have like 150 of my favorite labels in favorites and lots of artists. This kinda removes the need to go through beatoport every day. Because you can see new releases in your favs for each particular week. So that way it takes like an hour a week to go through new releases and you do not really miss much stuff because most of particular kinds of sound that you like are likely released on a particular group of labels. Other then that I check minimal top 100 from time to time, just to see the tunes that i might have missed and like once a month I check dnb/deephouse/chillout/tech house/techno/psy trance/electro/dubstep/prog house/trance so I know whats going on at least on the surface in those genres.
So yea, IMO once u know where to look and if you actually buy tunes of bp shouldnt take you over two hrs in a regular week to stay on top of the game.
This is why I miss the vinyl days.
On another note, you should understand that there are MANY more DJ stores for music aside from Beatport.
