didn't forget about you:p

ok i finally listened to this set again the whole way through and the mixing and everything was perfect and i enjoyed a couple of tracks, but for the most part, it was a little too deep for me and i felt like the tracks sounded too similar so it was like one long set of the same tone and i couldn't get into it.

i will definitely check out your next mix though this was my first mix from you. i guess i like it more when the genre switches up a little in sets.

this set is the type of CD i'd play in a clothing store or something. in fact, this is the type of stuff playing in most of the shops on lincoln road in sobe and it's cool for shopping to/background music. i just wouldn't put this on in the house or car and jam out to it.

hit me up with your next mix though and i'll check it out

*edit* woah that's weird we bumped this thread at the same time lol

i had to check this mix and i wasn't disappointed. I love deep house and tech house so it was easy to get me hooked! The Dixon striped down remix was my fav. cut btw

edit: now did you listen to my mix??

Thank you slylee for the thorough review , at the moment i'm really into drums and congas ,bongos etc so I understand what you meant when you said it sounded similar , on my behalf all I can say is that even though on almost all of the tracks there is those types of percussion instruments ,the tracks for the most part are different subgenres of EDM.

My normal style is to go deep , actually I'm way deeper than this...hehe but i'm trying to change that .

Thanks for letting me know this stuff is being played in Sobe ... my main goal is to actually have tiesto play my stuff ... oh wait .

I will def let you know about my next mix cheers

yea i've always had a hard time listening to a deep set all the way through. pretty sure it's my ADD still lol need to throw in a few surprises in between the deep songs otherwise i'll dose off or lose interest. i definitely liked some of the tracks in your set though and i'm also a fan of congas and drums and that overall latin sounding edm...just a little harder. it really is hit or miss with me when it comes to deep house/tech house songs.

jay's ADD & Chimichuri set has a song like that and i'm obsessed with it. i'll have to figure out which one it is. has male vocals saying "vamos chicas latinas". u know which one i'm talking about?

and yea lincoln road on sobe plays a lot of deep house in the cafes and restaurants and shops. i mean it's been a while since i've been down there but that's how it was when i used to go regularly.

I have to say this mix on some parts sounds like Juan Pachanga but without the genital wart ofcourse

the track your a looking for is " Mihalis Safras, NoiDoi - Chicas latinas " and i agree with you its a catchy motherfookin song .

Next time I'm thinking of doing a dub techno mix with more diva vocals and less african chants I think it will interesting and surprising to listen too .

Looking forward to it man

And LOL Jamie, you really do have ADD...we had already told you what song it was on the thread you started in the cor asking about it

that was weeks ago. it's fucking hard to keep track of all the songs i like. especially in edm. there's just too many. and the names aren't exactly easy to remember either lol

*edit*

you mean to tell me you can see this track name once and then remember it a few weeks later?

Ame & Henrik Schwarz & Dixon - D.P.O.M.B. (version 2 )

lol

Posted by woscar on Sep-26-2009 22:46:

LOL, that was a bad example because that's one of the biggest tracks of last year and those guys constantly work together on tracks

But, yeah...some track names are pretty hard to remember. It annoys me a lot too.

Posted by Amduscias on Sep-27-2009 03:53:

Oh my god

when i downloaded this set i thought oh it's just good old tech

BUT TO MY SURPRISE IT WAS TECH TRIBAL OMG

/huge tribal whore/

then i go to the tracklist and see THIS 11) Joeski - El Amor ( mucho drums mix ) [Maya Records} Old gem in there and im like oh shit!

I enjoyed this set from beginning to end, No mistakes at all

mixing was amazing and so was the track selection

a hundred thumbs up for this set, one of the best i have heard in a while seriously.

can't wait for the next one

One question

4) Mikael Stavostrand - Crushed [Imprime Records]

when this track kicked in it had a vocal that kept saying the name of your set Shango

was that part of the track or was that an accapella you implemented?

Edit: one more thing, i have heard La mezcla in about 7 different sets now and you have been the only one who hasnt had a mediocre transition

you chose the best track to follow along with

Posted by itsamemario on Sep-28-2009 22:15:

nice mix man
definately going on my ipod!

edit: only thing i didnt like was the transition at around the 25 min mark..

Posted by lenazi on Sep-29-2009 05:57:

yes "crushed" has that vocal included on its original version and I decided to name the mix after it , its no acappella .

Thanks for saying that about the mezcla and the track after it actually I was a little worried about that last track because its some "latin jazz caribean house disco" track that might have not worked out and I iincluded it just because I really liked the ending feeling it has to it , so i guess that did its part , also the drummy machine sound it has made it perfect to come out after " la mezcla " .

Yeah that joeski track was something that lawler used to play on 2002 , just an amazing track , i wanted to include on this mix a classic tune that some people would relate to , so I immediately thought of that one also really liked how it gave the mix a whole different direction refreshing it thus giving it another sound .

Thanks buddy glad you liked it

and also to all the people that gave this a chance

cheers
