Am I seeing TWO Moog Voyagers and an LP? He's got a Voyager (keyboard version) at front-left, and it looks like an RME (if I'm not mistaken) to his left mounted in the wall above his modular???

Also, this looks like a different studio than we saw in his youtube video a few months ago - is this a more recent photo?

Yeah, pretty sure this is his current setup.

Yes that is a RME, and yes it is the same studio where he was broadcasting a live studio session from (if that's what you are referring to). You can see his webcam on his right monitor.

Posted by cryophonik on Jul-08-2009 23:28:

Actually, I was referring to this video of the Deadmau5 studio:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cRt...re=channel_page

It looks like it's from November 2007, so it's probably his old studio. The new studio looks much nicer.

Posted by mfitterer1 on Jul-09-2009 00:27:

I believe that is his portable studio on his bus during his tour he was on.

Posted by Kismet7 on Jul-09-2009 03:45:

I remember a few people debating with me, that Deadmau5 doesnt use hardware, he just sells it through endorsement lol. Apparently from evidence, it seems he uses quite a bit. But back to the studio pics...

Shit, Deadmau5 studio looks awesome.

Hardware vs. software is such an epenis contest thing. Wtf does it matter what you use as long as the finished product sounds good?

Really? No offence meant to you guys (or joel actually) but you must have pretty low standards. Yes, there's some amazing kit (and really that's what it is mainly about) but it's one of the more basic studios I've seen in terms of design, aesthetics, finish, comfort, etc.

Yeah i think its the simplicity of it, it reminds me of my own.. so i can relate more to it than the other ones with the huges mixers, monitors and stuff.

Yes, and this has been established 1039013590139501905901 times in the same number of threads.

Small, but Kris Menace's studio...it's quite nice, and I used to have the FM Disco with his studio interview in it...very into his compressors and mixing boards.

----

I agree with DJ RANN on the aesthetics part of Joel's studio. I was going to comment on the lighting of the place, which seems very unnatural and sterile. The equipment is of my dreams, but just saying, I'd rather have it in a warmer (per say) place. Maybe he's got plans for it in the near future though.

That's a very good point - if you think about it, Joel (the Mau5) was one of us who made it as a pro producer.

It's a shame that a small bunch on cvnts made him feel so unwelcome that he no longer posts on TA.
