He was their coach, and the UK team referred to themselves (including Bisping) as teammates... but that's besides the point. It's the biggest fight of their life and Bisping who was training with them every day - wasn't there because he was "sleeping". Even Dana White said it was the first time it ever happened on any season of the Ultimate Fighter that the coach wasn't there.

Sarah marry me. For real I want to start a family with you

Posted by Renzo on Jul-08-2009 20:36:

I think it's cute Sara likes MMA. I just wanna pinch her little buttcheeks.

Posted by SuspicionVandit on Jul-08-2009 20:37:

Mir, GSP, Henderson.

I'm influenced by Henderson based on my hatred of Bisping. Henderson is still a good fighter in his own right.

Posted by Renzo on Jul-08-2009 21:12:

Interesting. No one besides myself is giving Brock the win. I can't wait, man.

Posted by iammesol on Jul-08-2009 21:20:

I'm afraid he will win.

Posted by Banora on Jul-08-2009 21:22:

SAM. Read your damn PMs already.

Edit to stay on topic: UFC stuff scares the holy fuck out of me.

Posted by Slylee on Jul-08-2009 21:23:

i know. i really dont understand how beating another human being to the ground is considered a sport, but whatever lol

i mean how did this shit even start? who finds it entertaining to watch someone getting injured? lol

Hehe, looks like the traditional heel/face-gimmicks of pro wrestling are having greater influence than I thought.

Its not so bad... but they just hit so hard. I've never been in a fight before... I've never even HIT anyone, so its hard for me to get into violent stuff.

Girls

Posted by Slylee on Jul-08-2009 21:40:

well i actually dont have a problem with violence if it's in retaliation. at least there's a damn reason for it lol it's the whole violence as a "sport" thing that confuses me.

there was a youtube video of these teenage girls beating this other girl up pretty badly at a sleepover, and i was so angry watching it like, "wtf!!! why wont she defend herself!"

i would never let some stupid fucking cheerleader get away with beating me up. i'd go ape shit and fight dirty..do whatever i need to in order to get out of a situation like that if i'm being ganged up on by a group. you better believe if there's a knife or soemthing laying around, i'm gonna use it.

No, it's martial arts that finally isn't pansy. It's spiritual, honorable, and requires a hell of a lot more confidence and motivation than a judo hugging competition.

Street brawl-esque beatdowns are frowned upon by the (true) fans and the administration who run it. Watch this fight to see a true battle between two guys who absolutely love what they're doing. They high five each other DURING THE FIGHT. Just brilliant.

Sorry Banora! TA doesn't tell me when I have a new message anymore.

My parents weren't... ah, the best of parents. I still remember the first day of school I was super excited and my dad told me to come into the back-yard. I walked back there and he was swinging a bat around and when I asked him what he was doing he said: "Showing you an example. If I EVER hear of you fighting, even if someone else throws the first punch, I'll beat you with this bat. Understand?"

Needless to say I was scared shitless to ever do anything physical to anyone. I remember a few months later I splashed soapy water into a girl's eyes by accident and was more upset than she was (because I thought I'd get a note sent home and get hurt); so I learned how to talk my way out of fights. Its always worked for me, really. I just make them see that beating me up is a waste of time and they usually agree.

However, I say I hate violence, yet I love stuff like Mythbusters where they blow shit up or empty a machine gun into a dead frozen pig.

...And I killed a thread, again.

I watch a lot of mma, I'll be hanging out on saturday watching it, a friend will call, and I'll say I'm watching strikeforce/affliction/random one on the internet and they will say "oh i didn't know there was a UFC on tonight?". Kills me, MMA does not equal UFC. UFC deserves a lot of credit for getting the sport to where it is, but it isn't the messiah.

Anyway, can't wait for saturday. Most looking forward to Henderson/Bisping. I'll admit I have heard good things about Bisping as a person, but that doesn't change me wanting to see Henderson annihilate him. Been a fan of Henderson for a lot longer.

i had contradicting orders from each parent

my mom telling me to never fight and be a lady and then my dad telling me that if i ever get in a fight, i better win lol

Posted by Banora on Jul-08-2009 22:43:

Nothing like opposite messages from parents.

it's not brilliant or honorable lol

marital arts is about self defense and discipline. ask any sensei...they will do anything to avoid a fight.

don't even go there with me. my dad is a 3rd degree black belt (retired), a master in jujitsu and i took karate in a real dojo in japan. lol

Posted by iammesol on Jul-08-2009 22:57:

Good point, but I still don't see most of the fighters as meatheads who just want to kick someone's ass.
