Talking

WOW! I see some NICE connection speeds! I wish I had broadband and a BIG HDD! I would be DL'ing EVERYTHING that looks/sounds good (which is ALL TRANCE)! My connection is 56 K. The ISP's name is "wt.net". Their website is http://www.wt.net/ so, if you're in USA and you pay more than $8.95/month and you want excellent service for $8.95/month, call "1-800-609-8638". If they ask who reffered you, just say "ALI ABDUL-MALIK". I pay USD $9/month. I actually pay in 6 month "blocks" so, I pay $56.17 each payment (it costs lower, with a longer contract). My connection automatically disconnects after 4 hours but, it AUTOMATICALLY redials (which sux because on DC, someone can grab that empty slot while you're gone for that 1 - 2 minutes that you're offline). This also sucks when you're listening to streaming audio too because the stream gets cut every 4 hours. How did I handle KFC Networks' TranceParty on 2001-12-31/2002-01-01 (It's a 9 hour broadcast)? I disconnected at the beginning of a long track so that, when I get back online, the song's still playing. They sometimes have e-mail authentication problems but, it doesn't bother me, since I never use their e-mail (I use Hotmail). All in all, it's good 56 K service, that's all.

PS: They have EXCELLENT customer service! They pick up the phone right away to address whatever problem you may have!

reveal: You are on SUNET, right? Probably the best thing about studying at one of the major universities in Scandinavia is the killer bandwidth you get for free. I was totally blown away the first time I tried to download a file from NTNU in Norway. No more renting movies, just spend five or so minutes and you have downloaded a DIVX... Gigabit internet rocks

dude switch to some other company... accessv.com for example. 30$+tx a month, you need to buy a modem (150$) and you get great speeds 1.3Mbs down and 160Kbs up. NO TRANSFER LIMIT

Since you think it's crappy: WHAT SPEEDS ARE IN YOUR LOCAL AREA???

Posted by Blue. on Jun-25-2002 15:32:

Their gonna cap Rogers soon if they havn't allready so I might switch to Sympatico since it seams like it'll be cheaper for extra gigs per month. Greedy cocksuckers, now we gotta pay more for our cable and DSL :P.

Ameritech.net ADSL
80k/s down, 16k/s upload. Open port policy and no transfer limit per month.

Linksys 10/100mbps DSL router to share the bandwith for multiplayer fun on weekends.

4 People usually get a ping of 40-80 on RedFaction T3 servers.
