Well that analogy is flawed because you won't die from this, might get an ear bleeding or two but that's ok.

i've listened to afterburn - fratty boy (north pole actually) this evening and i dont know why, this colontonio shit seems totally pretentious and stupidly produced and all that shit compared to what was fresh around 2000. why are people still making this music? after 9/11 and stuff. i dont understand it. trance is such a joke now. i can honestly say i like some of the pre 2002 stuff, but where does that lead? damn

no, music obviously got more serious after 9/11. its a fact. and the trance guys started to think too much and all that shit began after that. you really cant party as if it was 2000 if you have all the terror and war in your head, honestly. and it really started getting even more worse after that. the financial crisis is actually hope, since people traditionally party more and more when their finances are affected

come on, Ive been listening to trance as long as Ive been registered here.

DJ Sammy doesnt count for the worst trance songs ever - why? cause his music is POP with a beat behind it. I could accept that, so Sammy was never trance to begin with.

meanwhile colontonio's music is obviously tryin to sound like trance properly done, but he doesnt realize this song is the worst effort in trance IMO.

there was a classic thread in the MD made last year bashing this song and everybody was clowning this song - it was about 25 pages deep. too bad a mod deleted it.

blaming the decline of music on history is an argument we have been through a few times already...

I suppose it is a possibility but im not really buying it, you can find good music coming out of some pretty shitty era's in our past.

that Signum track is H O R R I B L E. They have produced some good stuff but this one is so bad it hurts.

Posted by -FSP- on Jul-16-2009 04:45:

to the op: i don't see what's wrong with it. i think it's decent.

The track you posted is just very generic and devoid of ideas. It is not shockingly bad, extremely simplistic and ridiculously OTT like any of the three I posted. The breakdowns in the first two tunes alone make the video you posted sound subtle in comparison.

Like I said, it can ALWAYS get worse.

I cant click on the link. whats the name of the song?

Posted by NourYega on Jul-16-2009 13:59:

It's a decent track considering all the shit that came out last year. The Peter Martijn Wijnia Remix is actually enjoyable.
No clue what you are talking about. I can give you at least 100 trance tracks that don't come anywhere close to "Serious Truth" from this year alone.
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying this is a very good track, it's average but def not the worst trance track, not even of the day it came out.

Tracks like DJ Sammy - Boys of Summer are still thousand times better than many of today's tracks that are called trance

Anything that Deadmau5 has produced and has labeled trance.....

Posted by floyd741 on Jul-16-2009 18:53:

It can get a lot worse actually. and yes, people call this trance sometimes. It's embarrassing to say I listen to trance because of this song.

I've heard even worse just don't remember the name.

yeah when i'm partying i'm always full of terror in my head

I'm fairly sure I've produced the worst trance ever five or six times at home

no obviously not all the time. but the society in general is affected

Posted by noikeee on Jul-16-2009 21:59:

What if it's a terrorcore party?

Posted by Zombie0915 on Jul-16-2009 22:23:

then we need a pentagram on the floor painted in red, and the head of some dead animal hung overhead.

I will be the idiot weaing bring green in the middle of the room where everyone else is in red and black

when people look at me funny I scream "Ia Ia Cthulhu fhtagn!"

then suddenly wearing the color green to the terrorcore party makes sense to them, and I'm cool again.

"Something about you" is a hell of a track. it's dumb as bricks but that's why it works. The bassline used in it has been the foundation of pretty much the entire hard-techno scene.

Now if you were talking about every other remix besides the original dj-Garry remix you would be right. ( and this includes all successive remixes he made of this track.)

Example: the original garry's remix is a simple yet unique track that combines a blunt kick with a bassline to create a very powerful drive. it's a very clean track that relies on the misthorn qualities of the synth to get people moving. Compare it to this remix and you'll know what the real cheeze is:

One track i used to listen to over and over again , and is probably a pure cheese track , but somehow them supersaw lines and that lovely offbeat bassline really got me hooked , its bad , but so goddamn addictive.
