-- How many people actually download mixes from here?

I guess this would also be a good place to ask this:
Has anybody ever thought of asking one of the TA admins to maybe create a DJ promotion forum that
is only open to users with 500+ posts on TA? Reason for that is to avoid having to filter through a lot of
the junk that gets posted here, as well as to ensure that active users maybe get to have their mixes
stay around for a little longer.
Just a thought
i do, its just a shame i dont really like the 'new sound' of dance music
its definately rewarding when you stumble upon a great oldskool trance mix. i like the really gritty early-mid sounds but at the same time i discovered dubstep in here and im really liking that too

Thanks for the flowers!
I've been in a lot of forums of many different types, but a special area connected to a certain amount of posts never worked. Honestly, a properly styled thread and mods that clean up is enough in my opinion.
The 500 post idea is not bad , but then on other hand you might have people that are not very good in english , but their mixing and taste of music might be good that wouldn't be able to post a mix anytime soon.
Regarding the different types of dj's , I do see more support here within the techno/deep house dj's than from the trance and proggy ones . As well as more interaction in the music discussion sub forum .

No one on tranceaddict downloads, hosts and generally supports people's mixes more than Sushi, and he seems to have an appreciation for a lot of genres. I would love to hear what such a man could produce... |

Often depends on genre, although I do like house/techno/breaks/other stuff a fair bit anyway. I will occasionally download a random mix that looks promising, and hey if it turns out to be good that person will be on my list of djs I like. Mostly though, it's a matter of seeing the people who's musical opinions I respect/agree with the most either post sets or be interested in others and I'll take a shot at them myself. Although there's a few genres (like oldschool goa trance, have been a bit dissapointed by a few newschool mixes) that I will just download for the most part regardless of whoever posted them simply because I really like the genre and hardly anyone posts sets of it here.

Also, I don't know how to mix! ![]() To answer the OP's question: Yes, I DL a heap of music from here. There are some extremely talented guys that post sets here, and I would say that at least 3/4 of the music I listen to comes from this place |
Do you two know each other personally? You can just force it upon him that way
I don't download anyones shit, you all suck.
I'm going back to listening to Trance Around The World with Above and Beyond.

I just signed up, but ive been lurking around here for years, and dl'ed a lot of mixes. Im trying to give feedback now as ive become a member, but many times i forget...
Btw. what really annoys me are people who write something like: "I made this mix a while ago, but don't remember the track IDs. Please help."
This is so ridiculous...
I DL and always review the mixes I download. Sometimes I forget about the mix (since my desktop is messy) but when I rehear it, I always return for feedback. The clique is definitely here, but its not because of a "circle jerk", its because, as someone else here mentioned, some people like the exact genres and they listen to them (me, for example, listen to ambient and psy/goa so I download mixes from that genre). I like it when the favour of reviewing the mixes is returned since I am also an active user here. Its part of the "game".
