you are always rude when not stereo attached.

this years line up features 3 international guests not only one like last year. Focus was put on the build up of the day. Sick progression and great vibe guaranteed.

Moreover all these three guests are ibiza regulars at main venues with billboards of them all over ibiza, when you call your event "ibiza", should be a concern, no ? at least more a concern than booking your friends.

Last years line up for reminders:

Victor Calderone (Stereo, Waveform, NYC)
Manzone and Strong (The Guvernment, Toronto)
Danny Torrence (Stereo, Unity, Montreal)
Vivie Ann + Anstasia (Blond:ish, Montreal)

talking about ibiza, roger sanchez lost is night at pacha... stereo is booking him opening weekend... then tell me that they are looking at the future...are we in 1999 or 2009 ??? oh yeah, sanchez's boys are the cube guys so i guess you'll hear plenty of their music there...

PLEASE change your ways !!! i really hope for a healthy Stereo, it is an awesome venue needed in our industry that deserves better, but then again maybe you don't know better... The only thing i read from you is you lowering events instead of raising yours. Something i didn't miss in last year.

well beach club didn't do the same error this year now looking at the future not in the past. They changed booker and are happy with their choice i was told. Fresh new music for a fresh new crowd.

This year line up is for all tastes.

So cut the crap. This is really a fantastic event for our edm scene.

P.S. Etienne Ozborne is Eric Morillo's boy... aspiring to huge international success. Great news to see him teamed up with influential international guests, that also give quite a show... be there !!!

You put words in my mouth. I never brought up other venues.

I'm going to this party to support my Toronto locals. I'm not from the city, so a mission to Beach Club has to be worth my time. To me, I think that line up is lame and I am entitled to my opinion.

I know last year's party had tremendous numbers and I hope it is the same or exceeds last years event.

And FYI: Roger didn't "lose" his night at PACHA, he moved to Amnesia...and what does that even have to do with this thread?

No nicknames.

You could book anybody and there is always going to be people that shit on the event, especially on the Montreal forum.

I'm going to be there with a bunch of Toronto people, we'll be drinking our asses off. Again, I don't like the line up, but I love the space and I'm showing support to my Toronto crew.

i don't think so...

No offense dude but electro-house is less than fresh and if u want something more recent how about you take a listen to all the deep/tribal stuff that's been going out lately!! It's all over the world, it's fresh and it's definetly a summer vibe but I guess Beach club's "clientele" wouldn't appreciate it because they couldn't show off as much as they do with something else than electro-house.

You have great taste in music but let's be honest electro-house is nothing more than the new Euro-dance.

i agree with you... maybe i wasn't clear...

i meant if you are to appeal to the mass what is fresh is that sort of house... for a musical style it is pretty young. Look, all the clubs fill up on this in this city.

lot's of new subgenres... but electro-house is still the new latest house genre, big enough market to be considered as such... not even a decade old.

Posted by julien2 on Aug-11-2009 16:58:

Anyways now it's all about Michael Jackson....so....i don't even know what it means!

Posted by lenazi on Aug-11-2009 17:02:

not that i should be posting in this thread or anything, but electro house is nothing but tech house with a fart bassline. The term was invented by online music distributors as a way to market these releases differently. Some of these exact baselines were used in the 1980's, they just did not call it electro house. This "genre" is as new as sliced bread.

That being said the complaining is pretty stupid, as those of you with a problem with the booking of this event have piknic at a fraction of the cost. Different crowds = different sounds, and if this does not cater to you, it is not like there is nothing that will not in this city unless you are technohead (the poster).

wikipedia is not the end all to an argument btw

I didn't promote it. I was an avid supporter tho. It's a good concept.

i am only disagreeing with your electro house being the freshest and newest thing statement here. I'm just a music nerd and i have nothing negative to say about this event.

in 2001 you could fill up a club with euro dance...

in 2009 it's electro house...

that's what i meant.

but someone could argue electro house doesn't exist and he would be right too... it's only another market like you said, not a proper evolution of music which makes an original style. But it's a big enough market to manage it separetely.

this could help out visualize what i mean... not perfect but a good model... http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/

but to go back to topic, i personnally consider more nick terranova, thomas gold and cube guys as playing more progressive house than anything else. Though many people say it's electro house.

both pretty good bargains, $10 for Piknic and $15 for BC (more at the gate).... or you can wait couple weeks and pay $100+ for Guetta and Armin

So glad I'm not going this year. Not my cup of tea at all..

BRAAAAP BRAAAP!!

Posted by breakawayj on Aug-12-2009 16:55:

Not sure what all the complaining is about??

The line up isn't necessarily my "cup of tea" either but the venue is amazing...Personally Im really looking forward to seeing Cube Guys as I've never had a chance....from their productions/recorded sets, etc they seem to play enough of the proggy tech house that VC played alot of last year....

Joe and Fab will kill it as always....I like the diversity in styles this year....going to be a full gong show....I've got a bus load of 55 people coming from Toronto to party with everyone...cant ask for much more...

Looking forward to Sunday

haha but how sick would it be if VC stopped by Sunday afternoon for a quck 2 hour set?? lol i wish.

oh and they are moving some stuff around for the party! (dj booth etc)

Sunday

House

11h00 12h30 = Arcadio
12h30 14h30 = Manzone & Strong
14h30 16h30 = Thomas Gold
16h30 17h00 = Band & artistes La Drumeria
17h00 19h00 = Starkillers
19h00 21h00 = The Cube Guys
21h00 23h00 = Etienne Ozborne & King Louis

Last time I booked Thomas Gold, he played much more tech than I expected

None of the djs will actually play electro-house

Mostly progressive with obviously vocals that fit the outdoor vibe that Beachclub is all about

I personnaly prefer having more than one headliner for that kind of gig

Everyone plays different but still keep a flow all day long

Thomas, Nick and The Cube Guys are currently some of the hottest producers on the planet when it comes to house... What can you ask more ?

It won't be a 4 hour set of tech, but won't be 3 djs playing commercial

It's going to be a perfect balance of both worlds with the hottest "HOUSE" beats of the upcoming months

Just have fun and enjoy the weather, 29 degrees and sunny

Lots of women, lots of Sangria and good music

That's all I need to have a good time

LOL

ok buddy, you can be full in swing for supporting it but dont lecture me, please

lol if your judging who made more hits therefore they are the better DJ you are an idiot and apologize in advanced, dont even compare the cube guys to calderone....please

i go see a DJ for how they spin, the type of music they play, the flow, etc etc not for how many noobs bought their elecro house tracks on beatport

all im saying is that last yrs lineup for me personally was better, everybody knows its going to be a wild ass party with more girls then ever, and thats great, if i was going only for the party (if i was single) i would be the first one there shaking my ass to cube guys cause i would be drunk and surrounded by girls, and i could handle all the electro fart sounds all day (by the cube guys)

Hey whoever organized this event and was in charge for the lineup is a genius and I would prob do the same lineup if I was in charge, its a great House lineup that caters to the mainstream crowd, surely the market they are targeting

and there is nothing wrong with that

PARTY HARD ******S!

i know calderone is a good dj and i never said i didn't like him, i was right behind the booth with eric el when he played at bal en blanc this year, quite enjoyable to see him have fun

i just reacted to the comment, like it was a catastrophy: how do you go from calderone to the cube guys ?

the cube guys achived great things in last years and they are really quite an act to see and hear... don't know that many house djs that never played at least one of their tracks, so, yes they are great producers and as for djing the team work is really fun to see. They keep the energy up and bring that underground feel, progressive sound, tribally beats, always sexy and happy music. Always makes sick parties.

So why not book them ?

some people book the same djs over and over again, why not try something new ? maybe people will like it... in the cube guys case they did.

thank god for victor that montreal is still on the map, best crowd ever for him for sure. but ain't it a bit narrow minded to thrash everything else in order to say victor is good ? especially when the artists you trash achived more in different aspects ? i find it lame of you guys. But hey it's TA wtv !!!
