yes, it's a tv show that airs on sunday morning (!), target audience: families and senior citizens, as you can see

this is amazing

-the old people and families sitting down for breakfast
-the slightly off lip-synching / no change in volume as he backs away from the mic
-the crazy camera movement like this is something actually cool
-the bad female dancers
-the fake EQing / spinning the empty table is PRICELESS
-wtf are those lyrics

Time to listen to it again:

This.

Also I'm seeing more and more stupid Eurodance remakes / remixes coming out. The fuck man, just play the original. I smell some more shit like this showing up in the near future.

it's already happened one time before when all the eurodanceanthems got their epic trance facelift, generating some seriously shoddy versions.

modern hiphop has been sampling the anthems and it was a natural thing since newer producers and mc's grew up in the 90's and they want to do something with the music they heard and loved. just like the producers and emcees who grew up in the 80's or 70's used the music they liked.

it all comes down to the one producer going 'i liked this track so much but i can't fit it with the thing i'm doing so let me try to update it somehow' and whammo.

and this is rubbish.

This is what EDM is all about!

Fuck the Armin's, Tiesto's, Ferry's, Sasha's, Digweed's, Zabiella's, Cox's of the world. This is entertainment at its finest

its a shame all those old people will die thinking this is what it has all come to. I am sick and tired of these characters perpetuating the illusion that djing is more than it actually is to the oblivious.

EDIT: I didn't mean to come off as if I were taking a cheap shot at deejaying, its just that these antics make people believe that cdjs are an "everything machine" that construct every element of the tune from scratch.

Posted by alexf on Jul-20-2009 11:10:

have you noticed the fallen-over mic stand?

Posted by Lilith on Jul-20-2009 11:17:

But wait, don't go away there's more awesome to come from the same place!

I know LOL. Like make a scratching motion on an empty turn table and fake-equing is some kind of skill that makes the track.

i enjoyed the interpretive dancing in the background.
