Uh oh, better start looking for rehab locations.

Are you mind raping me with the word sole and the picture of the fish. Is this a test?

Ha. I used to take Ambien sometimes and stay up. It was interesting, but the memory loss and general unpredictability freaked me out so I stopped it.

That shit is NUTS, I will never again try to fight the sleeping effects of an Ambien.

Posted by Rose on Jul-31-2009 00:17:

Fuck you guys, I took Ambien once and stayed up for 3 hours waiting to see something. Nothing happened. I thought you were suppose to start seeing shit.

Posted by lenazi on Jul-31-2009 00:19:

i'm 10 lbs from my target weight, i eat healthy and exercise...the hooch is the difference maker in making that target harder to achieve. I should not have used booze for insomnia anyway, and only after a few days i feel so much less bloated when i hit the treadmill.

i took a double dose last night and tried to stay up a bit to see if it gave a buzz, i don't find that it did. I was very very chilled out listening to boards of canada. It was nice.

lunesta and ambien are both z drugs with slightly different compositions. I've tried both and they are similar, except i find ambien leaves more of a "hangover".

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-31-2009 00:22:

Please tell me you don't drink soda pop and juice and shit? And that you don't consume refined sugar? And that you drink lots of water?

You can lose 10lbs in 3 weeks easily, without even exercising.

I liked most of the effects and had some neat audio hallucinations on two or three pills, but it just felt too "out of control" for me. I felt like they shut off my higher faculties so much that I might do something really retarded like trying to drive while on it. So I gave it up.

Posted by lenazi on Jul-31-2009 00:25:

i only drink water and crystal light, maybe a coke zero with meals.

i also have my diet planned out to a t...i was just a dummy to be dieting and consuming 12 beers a couple nights a week. The only day i splurge is one day on the weekend when i go out to a restaurant and eat whatever i want. I'm human.

if i drink coffee i use twin.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Jul-31-2009 00:28:

I stopped drinking sodas in high school and pretty much drink only water. Lets me eat more and not gain weight since I'm not taking in hundreds of calories of sugary drinks each day like most people.

Posted by lenazi on Jul-31-2009 00:29:

i never drank pop unless it was diet. I always had a very fast metabolism, it is just slowing down with age. South Korea killed me with rice and alcoholism

i used to be able to drink like a fish and eat fast food without gaining a pound, now hello mr salad.

And you think I care? Yes, I cared "enough" to reply to this, but that's it.

Compared to at least half of all the "cool" people here, I'm a sweetheart. Then again, I'm hardly ever here--again, compared to others. So I don't really see how I can be painted as a "douchebag." Perhaps you used the wrong word, I don't know.

yuch! yuch! yuchety fuck!

I swear to god they've done that on purpose, so people wouldn't develop.. an appetite

edit: Bad taste when you eat them is one thing, but that taste is there the next day too

Posted by lenazi on Jul-31-2009 13:39:

i don't notice the taste as i usually brush my teeth and use mouthwash before i go to bed. I get really horrid dog like morning breath because of them. So i mouthwash and light brush before my morning coffee (so i can actually chill with the gf before work without melting her face) and then brush and mouthwash after coffee so coworkers/clients don't die during interactions. I also chew a pack of gum a day at work (smoke less) so always having some form of mint flavour in my mouth really leads that taste to not being an issue for me.

i don't rail them

I have only been taking it a few days, but they really have improved my life a lot. For the first time in ages i am getting a full night's rest and waking up in tip top shape. It feels great to not be perpetually tired. I have an appointment at a sleep clinic in the fall, so hopefully they will figure out what causes my insomnia so i can get the full night without the pac man stuff.

I can't really see how this drug could be a recreational one, but then again i have no interest in taking 5 times the dose to find out.

Haha, I never took them for kicks either.. Ok, ok that one time

I have a hard time sleeping too, that is until I discovered the one drug that actually helps (doesn't work recreationally either), you should, if you haven't already, try seroquel (quetiapine). They are the only drugs that do the trick. Try them. 25-50mg and in an hour or two (tops), you'll feel 'naturally' tired, instead of drugged out.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quetiapine

My two cents, but for what they're worth, make that two dollars.

thanks for the advice.

i'm just going to stick with this stuff for now though, as they work and my doc thinks that they are the best fit for my lifestyle. I'm not too sure about taking anti psychotics to sleep, as they could also alter my behavior. Considering i work with people on a daily basis, it might not be the best options for my commission checks.

Everyone seems to take the anti-psychotic stance when discussing them, usually because people who are schizophrenic get zombified by them because they take huuge amounts of it, daily.

They are an anti-psychotic, tis true, but when doing reasonable amounts I can almost guarantee you that they won't alter your behavior in any way.

I'm not your doctor so I hate to 'push' them to you, but you should definitely ask him what he thinks about them, can't hurt.

Posted by lenazi on Jul-31-2009 14:25:

i have a 5 month script for the imovane and they seem to work quite well (albeit after less than a week). I just can't see the point in making any switch at this time. I do appreciate the info though.

Posted by bamski on Jul-31-2009 14:27:

Agreed. As we hockey fans know oh so well, never change a winning team

But they are hardly a long-term solution, so I hope you get the root of your insomnia sorted out and dealt with in the fall.

Posted by lenazi on Jul-31-2009 14:32:

yeah. The sleep clinic involves me spending a few nights at the hospital with machines hooked up to me to take a whole bunch of data while i sleep. If i can get rest without any meds it would obviously be the best solution.
