| Originally posted by ali92 I just decided to stop over at www.ebay.com in search of DJ Tiesto's Magik series at a good price, HOWEVER, most of the material I saw was LIVE MIXES by him, including 2002-02-02 - Live at Dutch Dimension! I was shocked! I NEVER thought that people actually SELL these on the 'Net! Now, as a test I decided to punch in Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten in the search field and up came the same: Livesets. My question is: What's your opinion on it? Do you think it's OK to sell this kind of material on the 'Net (they sell EVERYTHING else on there so, this isn't obscure)? Why or why not? Please give examples to show your point of view. Also, it took me less than 2 minutes to find all of this... |

I have a 56k and I have about 10 gig of livesets. I just sign on and download while I sleep. I can do 1-2 sets a night.
I dont mind doing that at all. It costs me $18/month for the net. As long as its cheaper for me to pay for internet access and download all I want compared to buying them...then I'll do the nightly downloads. But if I was ever chareged for the amount i download, I'd definitely pay. Its not an inconvenience to me. If it was for anyone, then I can understandt them buying it.

I know that there's Italics, Bold, Underline, etc., but, oftern, I'm instant messaging someone while I post here and on there, I capitalise certain words that should be emphasised because not all IM services work right with italics, underline, etc. (most of the time, when I do say, Italics, after I click the icon, the whole message gets Italisised!). Is that all you needed to know? |

| Originally posted by tranceDJ I once actually bought live-sets off of EBay. It was because I had a 56k and getting livesets off of napster at the time w/ a 56k was very hard. I bought 5 sets, 4 out of the 5 turned out to be rare PvD sets (I know they are PvD sets and I've never see anyone else who has them except those that I have shared with). This was still wrong though. IMO people should not be doing this. |
I like to know too!
yeah, spill the beans goddammit
dammit who brought back this ol' one.

i think its wrong. earning money for things you are completely not involved in. i am happy that its legal to share livesets, but making money out of it is just wrong. although i can understand you do it when you are clever. cause obviously there's a market for it and its now just a demand and supply problem. there are some ppl willing to buy livesets, and some others to sell. but imho its wrong cause the the person who actually did create the livesets does not get anything for it...

still illegal
It's so fucking wrong.......
enough said...........
how exactly is it illegal to sell a liveset when if, if one case, it's been recorded from the radio? radio is free to listen to, and i never heard any commercials on the radio that recording it is illegal?
who owns radiowaves? and i'm just wondering what exact laws (canadian, US, or some internatinal??) state that it's illegal
i'm neither for or against selling teh livesets on e-bay, i just think it's gay if you buy em.
i'm really more curious to these 'laws' stating its illegality
