Well that was more Apple's fault for saying there definately wouldn't be more than 50 people at the event, and not preparing for it.

Hard Summer Shut Down 8/9/09

It's poor planning guys.

I was at HARD SUMMER 2008 and they totally messed up the timeslots. MSTRKRFT had way too long of a set with an already late schedule made it so the last performers got excluded completely.

What was more infuriating, was that the Bloody Beetroots had their timeslot cut in half...It's history repeating itself! .

Even with poor organizing such as that event, these events are still booming with crowds.

It's because the entire electro scene is mainstreaming with artists like Crookers/LMFAO hitting radio that these events are thriving.

I'm REALLY curious how Hard Haunted Mansion(basement jaxx/zombie nation/Deadmau5) will turn out or what the HARD crew is going to do to redeem themselves. People were chanting "fuck this" "fuck hard" quite a bit after the show...

but overselling tickets is the only way that SoCal promoters seem to know how to work! i dont know how this hasnt happened at EDC, TAO, Monster, or any of thos other large events!

It did happened to EDC this year. They shut down the main arena for an hour.

Posted by bigperf on Aug-10-2009 00:49:

blame it on steve aoki, he pulls in a large crowd.

Posted by Tosh on Aug-10-2009 01:04:

I meant complete shutdown. EDC got to keep going. And I wasn't at TAO but I've heard really bad stuff from few people. Eaither way these events are over sold too often...
Which is the promoters mistake from greed. Not any artists problem.... Try just show up and get paid...

one of my friends who was there told me the sound system got fucked during crystal castles, and maybe all this was a cover up

I still don't understand the appeal of these huge shit parties.

Particularly if they're run by a bunch of jobbers.

The main Hard guy, Gary Richards aka Destructo, has not been a part of Avalon's Control Fridays for a few months now.

it's only a matter of time until we run into these issues at massives such as edc, monster massive, tao, etc.

even though they are opening up the outside areas at monster massive, it's still not going to stop people from going to the main floor when a good dj is playing inside.
