what I would do vs. what actually happens

- pay off student loan
- give $ to friends/family
- buy property
- invest a large portion
- travel the world for a few years or more
- buy myself a classic chanel bag
- go intern at some record label/magazine because i wouldn't need to worry about a paycheque

To be honest, probably keep living the same way I'm living now with a few small minor purchases.

Start a hedge fund and become a billionaire.

Really kind of a moot point though, since I don't buy lottery tickets. You're more likely to profit in a casino.

in order of action

-Invent %60 of my winnings
-pay off my debt
-pay off close family/friends' debts
-buy a decent car (such as: Mazda6 V6, loaded)
-buy a penthouse condo in Toronto
-hire a money manager
-hire a business manager
-buy/open up a nightclub
-BUILD a recording studio
-THEN... go on vacation for 3 months.

Disappear to a remote island.

Have my enemies butchered like hogs.

If i won say even $1million?

I would buy 4 one bedroom condos downtown ($250k each), then live off the rent money (roughly $5k/month)

$5000/month is more than enough to live. With this i'd travel for 5 years, visiting every country and living for a month or two. Ibiza every summer? check.

after 5 years i'd become bored then move back to Toronto and do web design for fun.

Realistically b/c I know how I am I would likely save at least half of it and spend the rest. I'd do a few things for my family that I've wanted to do for them and just don't have the money (i.e. fix up my dad's old '48 - originally his grandfather's - that's been sitting in the garage that he's always wanted to restore ), buy my mom the Mercedes she's always wanted and other things that they need paid off and they want).

Buy presents for my good friends. Through a big party with my fave DJs. Buy all the movies I want (a lot)! Most DEFINITELY travel the entire world. And build my dream home.

hahaha,, good one buddy!

me... I would spend my money first thing on front st and buy my dream car the lambo.. then I would NOT PAY MY DEBTS off... even if its only 2k... I would just let it sit there .. honestly I don't care if they get collections after me .. i still wouldn't pay it..

Even with the 200+ $$ in parking tix i wouldn't pay that shit.. i would keep letting it gain interest and see how much it can get up to!! It would eventually come to the point were I get my license suspended then I would keep on driving without suspended license and not pay those fines either.. I would never pay for parking either.. i hate anything to do with parking in Toronto.. Acutally I would pay people to make Toronto Parking Authorities LIves miserable..

as far as property goes,, i would get that concert condo next to guv.. then a spot in Whistler, BC.. a spot in Miami, FL and somewhere in Ibiza..

ummm.. so that is pretty much it.

1. Pay off all my debts and debts of my immediately family, my girlfriend and a few close friends.

2. Put my parents into retirement and buy them a nice property wherever they wanted

3. Buy a nice property in the Medeterranian and chill the fuck out there for a summer with my girlfriend, inviting my family and close friends to join me. Then I'd travel around indefinitely.

4. Come back and open a restaurant

5. Buy a condo downtown

6. Hire a money manager and invest the rest

I think you're forgetting that there are expenses to go with that.

Everybody thinks real estate is easy, lol. Way easier to shove your $1 million into a 6% yield mutual fund in a RIF account and get the same $5000, tax-free, with no expenses at all. Look a little harder and you can find yourself a reasonably safe 10% or even 15% yield.

Of course, everybody here is STILL forgetting that these $20 million jackpots aren't paid out as lump sums, they're paid out as annuities, so that $5000 per month is actually all you're going to get, unless you can find someone to convert it into a lump sum (at a hefty premium).

There you go again showing everyone how you know so much...

This is a fucking fantasy thread...

Let ppl have their fantasies you prick...

And for your information...Lotto 6/49, Super 7, and I'm pretty sure most lotteries in Canada give you one...BIG FAT CHEQUE for the total winning amount...

You...ass... are talking about American lotteries...

Posted by VDub on Aug-11-2009 21:30:

What I would do with a win is basically the same as most have already said...

Additional to that, I'd try and get into one of the big Indy race teams so that Sebbers can start early in driver development...

I've also always wanted to get licensed and certified in everything from scuba to helicopters to VIP protective driving...

I'd try and fly any aircraft that I could get my hands on and buy myself a seat in and F1 car for a few laps around the Nurburgring...
