-- Most Horrifying Horror Movie that Gave you Non-Stop Nightmares?..
Pages (2): « 1 [2]
Omen is pretty scary...or at least at the first time. I love that movie, its so exciting.Old movies are much better & scarier then the recent ones.
OMG are you all women or something???! Horror movies aren't scary, cos they aren't real!!
I always find the bits that are meant to be scary completely hilarious!!
For example in Blair Witch Project, at the end, where she is running in the house trying to find that bloke, and she see's him standing in the corner, and then she gets killed. I thought he was having a piss in the corner, and burst out laughing in the cinema, cos i thought it was completely out of context!!
Also, the Scary Movie film's have made me immune to horror films. LOL
that movie "salem's lot" scares the fuck out of me..maybe b/c i hate vampires..and "the shining"..that tricycle scene with those twins..
where's my blankyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy???
LOL cool thread! Seeing as im watching Nightmare on Elm Street 2 at the moment and watched 'The Others' (quite cool) and 'Jeepers Creepers'(awful) yesterday.
2 Scariest films without a doubt:-
Stepthen King's IT (that fucking clown is nasty)
House on Haunted Hill (As others agree here, a story of ghosts of the mentall insane coming back for revenge is quite disturbing)
Trancestar
Amityville Horror!
OMFG(osh)!!!!!
My brothers watched this when I was 7 and made me go to bed, so instead I watched the movie around the corner of my hallway in the dark. Needless to say that I did not sleep with my lights out for two months and I'm always afraid of walking into new houses. eeewwww!!!!!
Poltergist's beginning and middle parts were scary, but the ending made me not scared anymore. weird?
PAyce
Definately the BWP, the whole "Home Movie" theme made it more effective. Agree the beggining is BORING as hell, but then, when wierd things start to happen
Especially at the end, when she screams for like 5 minutes non stop, that got to me. This is the most recent movie that I found effective.
I got scared by "the fly" when I was like 10, when he dissolves that guys legs, but I watched it again the other night and it's shite
The shining, Event Horizon (not scary, just sick as fuck, the hell scenes were awful), Se7en (another sick film, not scary, sick), Texas Chainsaw massacre was scary, cos of the mentalness of leatherface and grandpa. Blair Witch Project wasn't scary, it was tense, but it's a good film, well made
Barnys day at school
that thing CAN SCARE YOU TOO DEATH!!!
otther then that.. nothing.. i got one big tummy

Horror movies generally don't scare me... it's more the shock effect.
But one movie that made me scared and paranoid was Final Destination. Shit it was about 6 month ago a saw it, and i was scared like a like boy...i could barely walk out to my car and drive home
Seeing people (in movies) getting shot and so on by some guy doesn't touch me, but in final destination where there's no bad guy hehe...
When I was like 7 years I stole Evil Dead 1 from my big brother and then me and my buddies watched it, we got so scared!!!
And Psycho 2 is also pretty scary! when Norman Bates is looking trough the hole in the wall and the suddenly some one is looking from the other side at him...That was so F***ing scary!!
Without a shadow of a doubt the best "horror" genre film is the 1970's German film
NOSFERATU
On a more popcorn level HELLRAISER 1 and HELLRAISER 2 are pretty good, then they just get stupid after the second.
The reason horror films now are lame is because they rely on cheap thrills, SFX to get a reaction The Sixth Sense and The Others being recent exceptions.

when i was about 7 i watched "the thing". thats was a big mistake as far as sleep was concerned for the next few months!
After Final Destination late one night (incidentally the night i was going to pick my folks up from the airport last november) It was raining heavy and i kept hearing things, I slept with the light on for about a week (So I'm a wimp.. Deal)
I also had nightmares after watching Scary Movie 2, I can't believe they let such a wank effort make it onto rental
BEACHES, yeah the one with Barbra Hershey and Bet Midler
those two scare the shit out of me on there own, but for this movie they were in the same frame of film for most of the movie, damn the nightmares,....
