One doesn't need a nursing degree to know when people are manipulating a situation to benefit themselves. Which is exactly what's going on here.

I will give them credit for appealing to so many people's emotions though. Going for the lowest common denominator is always a sure bet.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at earlier, was trying to be subtle (ha).

Really I don't think it's a big deal that they asked their friends to vote and collect votes because they lost their savings on account of some high medical bills (re: Margs' comment). But on the other hand, it's kind of low for them to be insinuating that this is for their sick kid, when it's actually for them. If they'd been honest about it and hadn't gone into the whole sob story, I might have tossed in a vote or two.

The difference between a genuine medical need and a financial need due to unforeseen medical expenses might be finespun, but it's pretty important.

Why are you guys even debating this? Just show your support to Rachel by voting. Its a for a good cause. I don't even know her and I am showing support because it's the right thing to do. I don't think any of us are in the position to pass judgment on this situation.

I was going to get a new garage but I had car problems and had to spend my garage reno money on my car. I think you should support my cause and get me a new garage...my car needs a clean garage to stay in.

you're right Kris, I don't know these people. One of the guys from the TFC supporters group that I am a part of, it's his niece.

I would hope if it was for me, there wouldn't be a question but I respect everyone's views on it.
