We have one of those fancy theaters here and that's the only one I go to. Tickets cost double ($8.00) but I'm still sure they're less expensive than what people pay in the US.

Before the stupid non-smoking law passed, there were even special theaters where you were allowed to smoke and drink beer.

Here it costs $11 to see a movie. And yeah our theaters have quite comfortable seats.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Aug-20-2009 20:00:

yeah our seats are comfortable here too($8-10). and screw paying for overpriced popcorn and soda. i go to the theater that sells you good burgers, fries, and a fresh cold beer while watching the movie($8-10).

Posted by lenazi on Aug-20-2009 20:01:

11 bucks here too, but i can drink beer and eat ribs. The seats also recline.

Posted by Slylee on Aug-20-2009 20:02:

well in south florida, it doesn't matter how nice of a movie theater you go to, it will still be swarming with 14 year olds with cell phones and regular fucking seats that make my ass go numb after 45 minutes (i have a bulged disc in my back and probably one in my neck too, so i get back pain easily).

we have a nice theater called the premier in boca raton and it's 21 and over and $25 per ticket and there's a nice restaurant and bar outside the theater and the seats are huge loveseats. i would go there more often but it's in boca and that's almost a 40 min drive if there's traffic, which there usually is.

anyway, what's wrong with liking to stay home for movies? i can smoke pot and make myself a snack and drink my own wine and fool around if it's boring, etc...

This is how that theater looks like

Explains why you're TA's biggest movie geek.

holy shit, that theater is awesome

speaking of theaters...this guy i used to be friends with (through an ex) designed home theaters for a living in jersey. his clients were people like JLo's attorney, etc... basically people spent like 300k on these rooms and they had a demo room in his office and we were all jacked on pills and coke one time in NYC and hung out in that demo theater watching live DJ events on the screen and snorting rails and dancing. lol good times.

Well, there's only one multiplex that has those, and it only has 3 of those theaters. They're usually packed since they're brand new and everyone wants to go there.

Yeah but still. I would pay extra to sit in those things.

Yeah, and it's not THAT much more expensive...regular theaters cost $5 and these cost $8

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Aug-20-2009 20:21:

agreed.

They have a similar setup like this at the IMAX theater near where my parents live. very nice inside, and $10 too. only $3 more than regular price tickets, which is not bad at all. i remember watching 'Dark Knight' in those plush sofa seats in the IMAX.

// edit

similar setup. only difference is the IMAX has black leather seats.

Posted by Sushipunk on Aug-20-2009 22:13:

We have those here too, they're called "Gold Class" cinemas. Pricey (about $20 for a ticket, from memory), but so comfortable, and you can order beer/food too. No smoking though.

I know, but it's not a re-make of that, they just have the same name.
