Also, how are you going to learn if you don't start programming your own sounds?

Yeah, at first it can seem like a ball ache, but it is incredibly rewarding and you never know, you might come up with something nobody else has done before.

Just put the effort in.

People who make their own sounds are also entirely able to create crap.

This is one of those discussions that seems to go round and round in circles ad infinitum. Both viewpoints are valid.

Good luck trying to convince someone who is primarily a composer to become a sound designer. Or someone who is fascinated by sound design/ synthesis to spend a lot more time on learning about composition.

Luckily we're all different, looking to make our musical statements in our own personal way!
