God, will it never end? I could see a fan being disappointed by this but why do people who don't like Tiesto give a shit? Or are they just reaffirming their hatred for him? He's a pop artist collaborating with another pop artist. Imagine that.

i remember at least one awesome BEP from back in the pre-Fergie days...to me they lost my interest after she joined the group... but i actually bought their new album and its not bad. of course the song from the album that is #1 in the US right now was produced by David Guetta...

i'm not a huge Tiesto fan but i don't see why all the hate for the guy trying to do some stuff he's interested in. i'm fairly confident all of the collaboration he did on his artist album were done due to him wanting to work with those artists.

I think it's because he masquerades under the pretense of being an EDM "artist" where he really is nothing more than a commercial entity, thus giving the scene and true EDM artists a bad name.

People who don't know about EDM assume he is the A-typical model and the poster boy of EDM/trance, and he has done that specifically by design, and that alone causes enough damage to EDM and DJ's on a whole.

He does not present himself as a pop artist (which contradiction in terms) but as a trance DJ.

He is to EDM what Glen Beck is to journalism. Popular but for all the wrong reasons and uneducated people gravitate towards them.

...and this "collab" is just more proof of not giving a fuck.

PS - if the album sucks, go ahead and rip him a new one. But until you guys hear the tracks it seems you should give any artist the benefit of the doubt - even if it sounds weird on paper.

word! i highly doubt the track will be good but three6 has always experimented with a lot of electronic music sounds in their music, so who knows. maybe it will sound like some old school miami bass style hiphop from the 90s, haha. anyone ever listen to edm chopped n screwed? sounds good on some lean!

does money = commercial entity? people do this for a living because they love it and it pays the bills.....so i guess anyone who gets paid to Dj is a commercial entity

uh it's not like will.i.am is unfamiliar to this music... they did play at raves years ago... remember.. the whole hip hop stage with Talib, Blackalicious, Jurassic5, BEP?

I'm sure people remember the party Oracle. It was like half rap/hip hop and I'm sure you guys remember Audiotistic with Outkast a few years ago too

i'm not a fan and i don't give a shit about tiesto, which precludes me from hatred for him, but this is a thread titled are you f'kn kidding me?...tiesto & three six mafia... where presumably people can discuss or laugh at his latest endeavor.

have you ever heard 36 mafia's music? if lil kim and lil jon had a lovechild that went to africa, got malaria and became a somali pirate, the congolese child soldier that kills him would be listening to 36 mafia. that's how trashy and ghetto their discog is.

lol very well said greg. I don't expect much from him, he's lost his passion or desire. I would definitely run to a Tiesto show if it was um... 2001. That's around his "summer breeze" days where he kept it very real and very solid. But sometimes an artist will just go mainstream and get the $$$. more power to him... just not my cup of tea anymore.

No, but he does not give a shit about music, just how many suckers he can snag to drain money form them, under the banner of EDM. The thing that I find is that if you ask just club goer (one that is in to trance) what they think of Tiesto, chances are they'll think he was/is alright.

now ask a DJ or producer (beginner or big time pro) and you'll get a completely different and seriously negative response. Why, becuase they (we) know he's a thieving, money-grabbing cock knocker whose only interest is in money that other producers can generate for him.

I don;t really like that much trance these days, and from a musical standpoint some of the tracks I;ve heard him play are actually quite interesting - what I don;t like is his politics, ethics or how he portrays himself.

I'm not a hater - I really couldn't give a toss and I'm just not interested, I;m just trying to let you guys realize the collective negativity towards him is not because he's made money or is undoubtedly successful, but because of the way he conducts himslf. It's bad for the scene and industry.

He truly is the Donald Trump of EDM.

@ R!CH

Dude you're trippin... I agree that their raps and songs as a whole are not tight sometimes, but, DJ Paul and Juicy J are killer producers and there is no denying that. Without them, Lil Jon wouldn't have been where he is imo. On a side note, this song sounds pretty dumb and funny. I am curious to hear it.

Obviously Tiesto is getting that big check. Hip hop now is branching into the trance/house scene trying to reach a larger market, hence Black Eyed Peas' latest album going Electro and artist like Pit Pull rhyming over house tracks from producers like Benni Benassi, 75th Brazil St. etc. It's the hip-hop labels noticing how large and mainstream electronic music is getting and trying to jump on the band wagon.
