ogenki clinic's remix of ashtrax - digital reason was superbly creepy

Intentionally Left Blank

Just so much stuff going on at the same time. Definitely a classic.

Did a quick search on google and couldn't find anything. What if someone was sitting front and center trainspotting all the tunes?

On the 4th he's playing in Hollywood and I will definitely be there just to request this track

On a more serious note I'm a huge fan of his work. 005 and At The Controls are some of the most played CD's I own.

I actually enjoy 10101 as well. Great track to relax too.

His Into The Dawn remix is just superb and Break In The Clouds is just bliss.

Curious to see him live finally because I have no idea what he'll be playing

Balance 005 is a given.

Roland Klinkenberg - Inner Laugh (James Holden Remix)
Joshua Ryan - Pistolwhip (James Holden Remix)
The Coffee Boys - The Touch (James Holden Remix)
Accadia - Into the Dawn (James Holden Remix)

Just about everything he touched back then was instantly gold in my ears.

That inundation of pixie sh*t got fairly old actually...when he re-invented himself (signified by "The Sky Was Pink" remix, which I can't believe no one has mentioned yet, so I will!), it was like a breath of fresh air.

classic prog is not pixie sh8t

I think by "pixie" he means the early 2000s "twinkle prog" sound that James Holden helped pioneer.

Samples?

Anyone got the playlist for the 2002 EM? Great set and thanks for share

"Bloodlock" (Sasha and Holden co-production)
93 Returning Mix of "Nothing"
Holden mix of Klinkenberg's "Inner Laugh"
PQM - "You Are Sleeping" (Chable Mix) has a twinkle lead

Sound later picked up and made more popular by Markus Schulz and Coldharbour Recordings.

I f-ing love that track.

(I actually played it out the other day, followed by Danny Tenaglia - Turn Me On (Bedrock Mix), in an otherwise modern techno-ey set... it was great. Was feeling a little saucy.)

Anything post 2004.

Few DJs can pull off what James plays.

Here in Montreal, he played an outdoor winter event. He started out with Animal Collective's "My Girls". It was awesome.

Twinkly, cascading synths done to death by James in the early 2000s and by his copycat contemporaries. Classic prog is indeed not any of that.
