Originally posted by orTofnChiLd well, i'm still on logic 8 and everything is the same. I noticed when opened it up a message came that said its gonna scan for audio units because of increased stability from snow. Other than that i noticed higher resolution and navigating through the menus is much faster.

Originally posted by Eric J Yes, please let us know if your system is any more stable or seems to run any faster. I still get frequent CPU spikes when I run a lot of plugins and Software Instruments at once. I'll probably go ahead and upgrade my MacBook Pro tonight. I don't really produce on that machine, but it should give a good feel for any overall OS performance upgrades.

did timemachine backup work or did u do it elsehow?

Originally posted by Eric J I'll definitely buy it when it comes out, but it will be some time before I actually install the upgrade. I was on Tiger until a couple of months ago, and I expect to follow the same upgrade path with this version. It will likely be some time until all 3rd party plugins I use are compatible, and I hesitate to install anything .0 until there have been some service releases. Your music workstation is not the place to be running cutting edge software if you have any interest in getting work done.
Just got back from PC World. First thing I noticed was the lack of Preferences in Quicktime X. I asked the Apple Geek where they were and he didn't know. Just did a quick search and lots of people have noticed the same thing.
Seems rather odd. Is this a bug or is there some reason for it ?
i really miss a good mediaplayer in OSX. both iTunes and Quicktime crash often (on big mp3 files which is all i listen to).

i was going to buy it today, but it was pouring all day so driving 2 hours to a location that usually takes 30 minutes to get to was out of the question. i was even more bummed there is no digital download of the update available
how's it going for everybody else?
mine's struggling a bit tbh, logic and ableton are crashing once in a while.. my PSP vintagewarmer keeps acting weird as well (freezing audio sometimes when it's meant to be processing it)...
i honestly can't tell any speed improvements in any way either, in normal operation or in bouncing audio with logic etc... just seems exactly the same running-wise... :l
could be because i didn't do a clean install of it... really should have reformatted anyway just to clean up the comp, but it would be so fucking annoying re-installing everything lol
supposly takes halv the time to do a clean install compared to before, and i thought it went fast from before. havent got the dvd yet fucking a-holes shipping in this country.
anyone running Live 6 on 10.6?
Thx!
i did the upgrade instead of fresh install. almost nothing changed lol.
some various fixes around noticed though, nothing important. all my files and installs intact but some of the progs acted like it was opened for the first time.
drivers for echo audiofire works (my biggest concern)
ableton live 7 le works
reason 4 works
logic express 8 works
firefox works
iTunes upgraded to 9 works (cant see any change as usual)
quicktime isnt almost a prog anymore, only a plug
antivirus did not work lol: removed, never worked anyway
going to upgrade this weekend, will report back
