not sure how many of you guys caught this, but this guy on my crew took a nasty spill yesterday. we all were having a good laugh with him about this after we made sure he was ok.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Sep-02-2009 16:46:

yeah i caught that. poor guy.

Posted by Unique2701 on Sep-02-2009 18:19:

darn, Safin is losing in the first round.

Posted by chimera66 on Sep-03-2009 01:19:

greul played a nice match against federer

too bad to see safin out in the 1st round but since he supposedly doesn't care about tennis anymore it's somewhat fitting i guess.

Posted by Renzo on Sep-03-2009 01:22:

It's fitting because the tennis world does not care about Safin, either.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Sep-03-2009 01:46:

Greul played Federer very well. Federer just had enough goods to take him out in straight sets.

Hewitt looks like he's ready to face up to Federer. Hewitt-Federer looks to be very good on paper. Hopefully Hewitt has enough to take it the next step over Federer.

not really. i was working the hewitt-chela match and was not impressed with either fellow. hewitt spent most of the time blocking shots back, and though he ended up with 45 winners, it did not ever feel like he had a stranglehold. i think federer will still dispatch hewitt easily.

before the 2004 men's final, we thought the hewitt-federer matchup would be epic. it ended up being a 0-6-0 asswhupping by federer on hewitt.

oudin is showing sharapove what's up,she's moving maria around the court very convincingly. uber impressed although she did beat dementieva which was impressive as is.

Oudin is showing a lot of tennis maturity for a young age (17).

Federer eeks out a win against Hewitt. Hewitt was a couple of key points away from taking the 3rd set, but Federer seemed to take that extra step all the time.

Witten gave a real good effort against Djokovic, but I think the duration of the match wore him down.

she definitely has some confidence after her win against dementieva. i can't tell who will win the third because maria has a great chance of coming back. she's holding oudin off fairly decently right now.

also haas is ahead of verdaco

that Oudin girl is some ugly flat chested bitch, good game by her though

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Sep-06-2009 01:36:

wow. Roddick-Isner.

classic match.

Posted by trunks1022 on Sep-06-2009 06:37:

funny - i was listening to the oudin post-match on court interview while i was heading out to a court assignment. it was so refreshing to hear the enthusiasm and pure shock in her voice. she was genuinely awed and thrilled to have taken down some top players. it was kinda cute actually.

Posted by stren on Sep-06-2009 07:36:

That chubster Jesse Witten played some great tennis as well

Posted by Unique2701 on Sep-06-2009 21:40:

And Kim Clijsters did it again.. First match I've seen her play since her comeback and it's definately a pleasure to see her play again.

Posted by Ian on Sep-06-2009 22:01:

ha. no more penus, makes a refreshing change.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Sep-06-2009 22:02:

the clijsters-williams match has got to be one of the most confusing matches i have seen in the past couple of years. each player dropping donuts the first 2 sets is just a headscratcher to me. congrats to clijsters. she looks like the best candidate to take down serena.

nadal looked a lot better compared to 2 days ago.

True dat. Fantastic strokes, superb power play by both.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Sep-06-2009 23:57:

tsonga-gonzales

monfils-nadal

4th round matches.

Posted by Banora on Sep-07-2009 00:16:

Roddick has a great ass.

...Okay, that is all of my interest and knowledge of tennis.

random blurb from me. roddick lives about 3 1/2 miles away from me. maybe i should pass by his house, and do something stupid.

i thought it was a pretty poor match. venus blew all sorts of easy volleys that could have put the third set away. there weren't many winners hit at all. it seemed like the best strategy was to wait for the other person to screw up.

Love is in the air
