Trance came from a combination of house and techno, not just house.
I know it is not solely a house evolution but what I am saying is without those chicago teens and their roland 808's and 909's and old disco records we wouldnt have anything.
I'm not judging house music based on what it contributed to EDM. Its contribution is wholly irrelevent. What I am conserned with his how it sounds..which is bad. Disco from the 80's however, is pretty nice, but house music in the 90's and 00's is just, meh.

...the fuck? House is undoubtedly the biggest genre of EDM. Always has, still is and most likely always will be.
It you want to get extreme about it at least go the proper way and say it is ALL House music.
lol'if it wasn't for genres changing edm as we all know it would be dead.
it's only when artist's/producers become inspired and create a impact is when things begin to change and crossovers begin to happen.
Except when they change to weak crap, as happened to trance and prog.
