I am, gonna arrive early and try and get a seat in the grandstands. In '07 when I went we were late and missed pretty much the whole Raptor show, did see it do fly-bys but was driving so couldn't really enjoy it much. I hope it comes back this year.

Oh and for spottings today did see a F-18 circle around Yonge/Eglinton area around noon.

So in order to watch this do you just buy tickets to get into Ontario Place and go near the water, or is there special air show tickets?

Also, any idea how much tickets are?

Just trying to figure stuff out because I've never been. Thanks!

Best place is the grandstand on lakeshore in between the ex and Ontario place. I'm nit sure about the price.

I'd just get into Ontario place nice and early and get a nice spot on the grass as far west as possible.

You can also watch from the grass on the cne grounds. There are a few good spots.

If you've never been, you'll be amazed. Especially by the Snowbirds. They are by far the best in the world.

or u could go on a boat cruise and watch it right on the water. dance 2 da boat was pretty fun last year with the planes flying all over... boat dropped anchor and chilled with tons of sail boats around (some coming close to crashing into the flinders)

Shut up, you didn't even know what an F22 was yesterday and now you claim you saw one.. I think VDub was right and it was a CF-18 :P

Also have you ever seen the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds? If not then you're just assuming that Snowbirds are the best cause that's the only one you've seen.

The Snowbirds are among the best acrobatic flying teams in the world, rivalling the American teams, the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds. Each brings a different show to the table, Hanson said. It's a metaphor for the two countries -- the Americans are all shock and awe while the Canadian team is all class and grace.

(Capt. Sean "Tweety" Hanson of Richmond, B.C., manoeuvres the No. 6 Tutor jet around to the far left side.)

Oh god yes!!!

16's and 18's just don't have the manueverability of a Tutor...

And they're way to fast to do tight stuff...

Snowbirds are untouchable...

And were starting today with a couple of P-51 Mustangs and another one I can't name...

God I love this weekend.

Snowbirds should be practicing today!!!!

I don't think I'm going to make it to Ontario Place...

Seb may be a little young for the jet sounds so we may have to catch it from the roof at Palace Pier...

Nick, i have seen babies there with these on

Not sure where you'd buy them from but they'd defo do the trick!

Posted by VDub on Sep-04-2009 14:23:

Yes I thought of that, and I happen to have a set, but I don't know where they are and they'd be too big for Sebbers...

Maybe I'll go on a bit of a hunt for a smaller set and go on Monday...

YESSSSSS!!!!!

The SNOWBIRDS are here!!!!!

Posted by d-form on Sep-04-2009 15:18:

Did anyone get a schedule for the afternoon. Apparently if you sign up for the CIAS insider they email you a schedule but I couldn't sign up from work.

The F22 is the most amazing thing you'll ever see. It flys straight up till you can barely see it then will look like its just standing still and slowly fall over straight back down. Its about 2-3X the size of the f18/f15 yet can out maneuver both. It pulls turns so tight I can't believe the plane doesn't split in two. If you've never seen it go just for that.

Posted by VDub on Sep-04-2009 15:25:

Twice a 16 maybe but the 18 is a pretty big plane...

Agreed that it's an incredible machine...

That manueverability is thanks to it's vectored thrust...

It is def a treat to watch it's display...

God can you believe these guys get paid to do these shows???

Id give my left nut...

F 16 just showed up for practice....

Such a great little jet. The pilot is almost in a lying back position in the cockpit...

It's the Ferrari of fighters...

Iron Eagle FTW!!!
