Great way to kill time while at work.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Sep-05-2009 16:30:

Holy shit...hours. I'd say at least 3.

Lol @ everyone justifying their time spent here.

Posted by R.j. on Sep-05-2009 16:37:

Weekdays - when I'm at work; when I get home I study/do homework/writing or I'm having a read (just finished Brave New World).
Weekends - if I'm not studying/doing homework/reading/writing/or out with friends, then I'm here.

Posted by Zild on Sep-05-2009 16:37:

I'm only on here because of Bas.

Not me, I'm annoyed at how much time I spend here. Sometimes I want to quit altogether.

i love how the op calls everyone sad yet starts a thread in the dj forums about needing a mod bad.

i think he cares.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Sep-05-2009 16:45:

Hahaha, I love TA. I often wonder what it's gonna take for me to quit and when that will be. I guess once the lulz stop and I don't have "friends" here anymore/can't relate to people.

Bas and I were joking one day about our kids growing up and joining this site and being like "My dad/mom used to post here!" (Still posts here??)

Lololol.

Off and on for a few minutes throughout the day. Probably a total of a couple hours a day. There is that rare day, though, where I do nothing and sit on the internet the whole time.

Posted by Energy_3 on Sep-05-2009 17:11:

well on holiday at moment in hotel, pissing down with rain and shity weather for the last week so been on almost all day everyday. but normally i work 60hours a week so no time to do anything. but funny, i feel bad now spending all this time on TA but when i get back to Australia get back into producing and working again.

Agreed. Now I've just spent my 5-10 minutes so I'm gonna move along now...

Posted by Ian on Sep-05-2009 23:03:

as a rule, I read ta & my news sites during breakfast, converse with the aussies like stu, lily, fledz and some of the late night strangers, mostly women ending in ora. Then I go off, do whatever I have to do, come on after dinner & usually diff people & drama is going on. If I don't do anything and just mess around infront of the comp all night, i'll check sporadically unless cor is war. then it's fun to join in

Posted by Silky Johnson on Sep-05-2009 23:16:

I truly do love fucking around on the internet, whether it be for actual useful purposes, or just posting on forums, doing Facebook, or MSNing with friends. I do sometimes find it hard to tear myself away from it, but; conversely, I never even think about it when I'm away from it/doing other shit.

Posted by Krypton on Sep-05-2009 23:17:

600 minutes a day.

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Sep-05-2009 23:18:

Half hour in the morning, half hour in the evening, maybe a half hour over my lunch break if I'm not leaving the office. I check my work email pretty compulsively after hours and over the weekends, and I'll usually at least glance at what's going on in the cor. When classes are in session I usually check less - until it comes time to procrastinate on papers at least.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Sep-05-2009 23:46:

No more procrastinating on papers for me. I finally found my sure fire method to getting high A papers, and I actually enjoy being immersed in those projects.

Funny though, I still always make time for TA. It's MSN/chatting that I have to cut myself off from.

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Sep-05-2009 23:51:

I've been in school for like 20 years, and I'm still an awful procrastinator. Drives me crazy, but I can't seem to help it.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Sep-06-2009 00:00:

Yeah same here. But something just switched last year. Perhaps all the late nights/early mornings feeling like shit and saying to myself "never again" finally took their toll. I think also acheiving academic success and becoming a leader among my peers was a great motivator to change my ways permanently.

It truly is easier and less stressful to just do the work and not leave it till the last minute.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Sep-06-2009 05:24:

Your old person work ethic disgusts me.

I have a shit GPA and poor work ethic, yet all of the good students work for free while I get paid internships...

Same. I got the best starting salary and job out of anyone, while most of them are still looking for work. My average was around 60%.

Grades are important but not always and some people are just able to get by in life using other ways, ie the two of us

Posted by Zild on Sep-06-2009 13:26:

I think it has to do with our scent.

Posted by Fledz on Sep-06-2009 13:28:

Yea I'm happy to go with that reasoning.

Posted by Zild on Sep-06-2009 13:32:

In my field grades are cool, but having your name published in peer reviewed journals is even better.

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Sep-06-2009 13:37:

I'm pretty sure that's every academic field.
