If Desyn gradually moved into DnB, all good. At least there was a few hours of his signature house that you enjoyed. Totally disregarding his house fanbase though...disappointing.

This is exactly the close minded attitude that keeps some of the bigger guys from ever going further.

and the two guys that come in on the right @ the 57 sec mark - BIG UP DNB MASSIF!

That sounds like the kinda dnb I'm down with, I wish someone had a recording.

02 Ian Pooley & Magik J - Heke (Ian Pooley's Gone Balearic Mix)
03 Jaytech & Matt Rowan - Tomorrow
04 Miguel Migs - Petalpushing (Ian Pooley Dub 1)
05 Wize - Heaven
06 Sesa feat. Erin - In My Life (Syke 'N Sugarstarr Instrumental)
07 Scape - Be My Fr...

...oh, not that kind of thread

A lot of Desyn/Rowan/Add2Basket fans are actually very narrow minded when it comes to stuff that isn't House, specially towards genres that aren't as melodic, like Techno. It's just like with Armin/Tiesto/PvD fans. I've seen it happen A LOT on Spirit Soul

Personally, I applaud him even though I'm not into DnB at all. It takes huge balls to pull a move like that.

Haha that guy in the red shirt at 58 seconds was dancing just like that for the remainder of Desyn's set.

Yeah, there were a few people in the tent I talked to who had no idea who the hell Desyn even was, they were just there because they heard D&B...

My boyfriend and I walked by this tent and all I could think was that Desyn was a no show and whoever filled in was playing dnb.

Mind you guys - this is the same stage that went from JAMES HOLDEN to McCheesey ATB. That tent was a big wtf.

Not as bad as Heidi playing DT's Music Is The Answer. that shit was totally unexpected for a Sunday School tent

Posted by Yuris on Sep-10-2009 16:58:

Matthew Dekay and Desyn Masiello are playing about 300 ft apart in 2 separate clubs in Chicago tomorrow - its a tough call. And ironically enough, I think I will go see Dekay because I liked the 2006 Desyn sound more than D&B

I don't think he'll be playing DnB any more...it was more of "I'll do something different than what everyone else in Electric Zoo is doing" moment.

Do you know the very first song he played in his set? It was amazing.

It'd be cool if he continued playing dnb, to be honest.

There's already other DnB DJs that most likely do DnB way better than Desyn.

Posted by enydo on Sep-10-2009 20:38:

Who cares? I like seeing DJs who play whatever the hell they want. Judging by Desyn's awfully boring set of stompy tech house with boring prog beats in Atlanta last week, it might be more interesting if he changed it up.

why does woscar have an alt now?

Not sure I remember it, but from the official video (below) if that was the 1st track, I forget the name of it. But it's a 16 Bit Lolita's track/remix perhaps?

I'm in the front wearin the white button down goin nuts @ 4:06

Oh shit, my ugliness immortalized in video. But it's great to relive the memories. I was next to kadomony starting in minute 3 - not the pretty blonde to his right, but the brown haired, glasses wearing, shaggy mess to the left.

Oh yeah, the woman who was all over MrGame+Watch can be clearly seen in the beginning of the video. She was the girl at the far right in the short sleeve magenta/purple shirt. She had her hair back in a ponytail.

That video is epic.

I might share it on Facebook, but I'd get shit for it since it caught me smoking a cigarette.
