Yeah. The last person I want to be is that fuckin' annoying idiot who's always asking stupid questions because they didn't do the readings. Thanks for wasting everyone else's time.

Actually in my experiences the person asking all the stupid questions actually did the reading and is just to stupid to get it! The person who didn't read sits down keeps their mouth shut.

Yeah, but I'm sure you weren't in a program comprised of 90% girls/women. Lol. What is it about women that makes them especially dependent on others to think for them?
Yeah I said that, because it's true.

My program was 95% men, or should I say boys; rest assured that we had the exact same idiots in our lectures.
4 out of 5 stupid questions were just laziness - answers were right there in the readings/lecture notes that they couldn't be bothered to read - and 1 out of 5 came from people who genuinely just couldn't comprehend it.

I truly do find this so enraging. While I love back to school, I fucking hate the first week because that's when the majority of people ask stupid questions about assignment criteria, due dates, etc. IT'S RIGHT FUCKING THERE IN THE GODDAMN SYLLABUS YOU FUCKING MORONS. UGH.
And it's always the same assholes, too. The ones that are always yapping in class and fucking around on their phones and shit. Not only that, but then they have the nerve to speak to the prof like it's HER/HIS miscommunication problem.
Some stupid bitch's phone rang in class yesterday, and she actually answered it and started talking! FFS!
Anyway, nice day out today!

Hahaha, wasn't I telling you once that most of our daily aggravations really aren't caused by everybody being stupid once in a while as we like to think, but actually by a small handful of people being stupid all the time? You disagreed then, but I maintain that if it weren't for about 10% of the population, we'd never have any reason to be angry.
As for the cell phone incident, I guess I went during a more innocent time when people weren't distracted or expecting distractions 24/7, and it was still frowned upon to be talking on a cell phone or churning out text messages in a formal setting. Now with everyone constantly banging away on their iPhones/Blackberries every second of the day, it's pretty much the norm for people not to be paying attention to anything around them half the time, no matter where they are.
I think they should ban cell phones in lectures. Actually, I think they did, back in my day!
...Yeah, nice day.
Gotten lots of biking in!

Seriously? I disagreed with that? I take it back, lol. I was probably just being obstinate because you were pissing me off or something, lol. Either that or it was the night we talked about schadenfreude at Footwork, lol. I do vaguely recollect the conversation though.

Its distracting to others, distracting to yourself, and disrespectful to the prof....but I wouldn't expect much else from kids nowadays.

You'll find that as soon as you single them out and humiliate them a little in front of the class they are less likely to pull shit like that again.

No doubt, and that's exactly what my prof did, lol.

ha, we had a prof in my 1st year who laid out the following rules - if your phone rings in class, you have to get up and leave the class
if you don't, he will, and the whole class would still be responsible for the material he wouldn't lecture cos of that
lol, that worked pretty damn well!
what a fucking awesome day.. walked around my 'hood a bit, actually got honked at and whistled at too O_O (in the middle of a gay village)

I think it was in Detroit, and I don't remember you being pissed off, but maybe you were just keeping it under wraps, hah.
Posted by Silky Johnson on Sep-13-2009 00:55:
Lol oh Detroit. Well that explains why the memory is vague.
