You can franchise the name, who knows what the rules are or if they're just calling it for the fun of it and hope they don't get sued. But I'm pretty sure there are clubs all over the world called Amnesia that have no affiliation with the one in Ibiza

A few months back I heard that Twilo was making a come back with the old SOL location, and now this is popping up. I got to find out some more info on this venue.

You can use the same name state by state without franchising ex- Amnesia NY and Amnesia NY have different owners. Also, one could be Amnesia Inc and the other can be Amnesia LLC, they could both operate in the same state. If they were to franchise or copyright the name, you have to do it in each country you expect to have business in. I kind of question their character by trying to sell their shit off another club. It would be a lot more respectable to just have a new name.

Not unless it's trademarked in the US.

That's what happened with that whole Stereo lawsuit a few years ago when the Montreal club opened a sister club here and the venue that was Coral Room sued them because they had already been using that name and they were pretty close to each other in terms of location (if I remember remotely correctly).

who gives a crap what the venue is called as long as they have a good sound, great line-up, and customer-oriented service... oh, and keep vaginos out...

at this point iam willing to give it a shot if the line-up is proper

Another venue to play edm is bad ass for this city. I'm moving to NYC soon so i'm looking forward to it. Made events is bringing some big names to Pacha and Cielo too which i'm looking forward to seeing. As far as a club surviving off of playing edm alone...very hard to do so unless its a smaller intimate venue catering to house. No big club playing edm only will survive...those kinda clubs need regular non big dj booking activity and these days thats not how edm works. People go out to see booked acts these days, therefor regular non big dj booked days will be slim to no people........many people always reference twilo and all the older clubs from the earlier part of this decade. Back then it was way more druggy and people were coming out to "party" rather than appreciate the music. You had fifty times more people willing to come out due to that fact. Clubs like that were packed consistently on nights of no big dj booked. Now the edm scene is far less druggy and ravey so the "party" crowd will not be there to fill random nights. It's mainly just fans left and that's a smaller amount of people to work with. Most fans now go to see booked dj's and acts...not just to go out for no reason other than to dance on a random thursday. Times have changed. Enjoy Pacha, Cielo, Love, and whatever other place that allows edm to have their nights and bookings. Places like the tunnel are gone and wont come back. You would need a "rave scene" to accomplish that and thank god that shits over.
