I have to give much props to Aruna. Not only she is a great singer and performer, she also promotes for the night she is book. Not a lot of singer does that. So Aruna +1 for you. I hope you do the same for Oct. 3rd at Circus with Myon&Shane 54.I know tomorrow will be a great show for you.

Take care,

Johnny "LOVE MUSIC DANCE"

Just got back... a few comments:

Norin and Rad did awesome, as usual. Their friends up front brought a lot of energy too. I can hardly wait to see them again at Circus on Saturday.

The sound at Red is generally good (I usually don't need my earplugs), but the vocals are terrible there I saw Infected Mushroom, Jaren, and Aruna during the past few months and each time the vocals were almost unintelligible. You can't hear the individual words... it really needs to be fixed. You could tell Aruna gave a good effort, but I really wish I could hear her words more clearly. Hopefully the sound at Circus on 10/3 will be better for her.

And I really have to say the 9/11 "tribute" was in VERY poor taste. I just don't get it. Were they trying to give a sincere tribute to 9/11, trying to be ironic, or trying to mock 9/11? I doubt the latter, but I felt insulted and others around me felt the same. For those who weren't there, ~7-8 naked girls walked on stage one at a time with body paint depicting the twin towers, trance music playing in the background. Man, what a TERRIBLE idea. This alone will make me thing twice about returning to RED. Seriously.

whoa there buddy... are you serious?? that sounds preety far out there. Naked girls..with bodypaint....do you have a video of this?
no just kidding of course but thanks for the report...I wasn't there but that does sound preety way out there...seriously. just a banner and a moment of silence should suffice (next time I guess)

about the sound. oops I guess my 2x sound check advise wasn't followed?!! I wasn't there, but MAN SON OF @#$R@$R#$$R!!!! I've stressed time and time again when there are trance vocalists there has to be some DECENT *SERIOUS* SOUND CHECKS!!! Otherwise it will ruin it OR at put a serious damper on the show! Yeah it costs money, yeah it can be a pain in the @ss, but IT NEEDS TO BE DONE!!! I think (hope) Red will be able to fix this next time (I think they know about it now, lol)

Look, I just stepped out 1 hour ago out of a club here in Seattle, (which is why I'm missing out on the LA stuff for now), I just saw JES live vocals, she played 7 or 8 songs IN A ROW, it was great, super top notch sound and ultra clear vocals. I will post videos on youtube later in another thread if you guys want. But, if the Seattle-ians can do it, how can we fail in LA / OC the capital of Entertainment and Music? Seriously lets get it together!

As far as when Aruna sings live vocals @ CIRCUS....no I doubt it, there will be no problems, as Johhny and Loc are on the ball, those guys won't fail. im telling you, they're on fire! spanking major trance booty!!!

but seriously now, when trance vocalists come out its a special time, lets be extra careful ok?

I should have said semi-naked girls (they had bottoms on). After the girls got off the stage, they danced in the crowd.

It WAS pretty far out there. My friends and I felt like we were at some sort of avant guard art show... like the person who set up the 9-11 tribute was trying to make some sort of political statement through art. My jaw was fixed in a 'wtf' position for the entire tribute.

I assume that the person who designed the tribute had good intentions but it didn't belong in a trance club. No one comes to a club to be reminded about 9/11, especially not on 9-18 and definitely not in that fashion.

Hey guys. Thanks for coming. Hope you had a good time!

As far as the sound, we actually did soundcheck...for an HOUR, and by the time we were finished, things were sounding pretty good. The problem, I think, is that the music was WAAAAYY louder during the show than it was at soundcheck, and the soundguy couldnt really push my level up appropriately or it would cause feedback.

Like everything in life, its a learning experience. For the Circus show perhaps its worth telling the guys to mind their levels, at least until I'm done, or to somehow reposition the speakers so that theyre further in front of me, thus circumventing the feedback issues.

From what I've been told however, this was a huge improvement on the sound issues experienced during Jaren's show there where there was MAJOR feedback, problems w the wireless mic, etc.

I'm sure future shows @ Red will only get better.

Anyway it was a valiant effort on everybody's part...and I, for one, had a great time

Hope to see you guys @ Circus, 10/3 !!

Certainly was an excellent night.

Pearl & Pelio had a great set. Can't wait to see these guys at Circus tonight with Aly & Fila and Norin & Rad.

The sound was mediocre. Always could be better but definitely sounded better than when Jaren sang live with Matt Cerf.

+1 to Aruna.

Can't wait until Oct 3rd with Myon & Shane54.

This is true. I remember a couple times there were MAJOR feedback issues during Jaren's performance. Jaren didn't look happy, but she handled it pretty well.
