Guys aren't two-faced, you're just easily duped.

Posted by Dervish on Sep-14-2009 23:57:

I've known a few two faced guys, but only a few. And without question I've seen it as a "bitchy" trait.

Nothing more shitty than to hear someone you reckon is alright whining and bitching about someone who to their face they are best mates. Always makes you think "what do the say about me when I'm not around".

Can't be fucked with that complication. That's what's good about being a guy, everything is simple basically.

I say the same thing Vivid people assume I'm nice because I have to be, I don't. I just like being nice, but if someone's a cock to me or someone I like, then I can be a total cunt back. Always shocks people too lol.

it's called being civil. what the fuck do u guys want us to do? claw at each other's faces when we see someone we don't like? lol grow up.

everyone is a little two faced at times, if you know how to act civil to even your enemies. it's called being mature.

now if you're talking about being a complete fake and pretending to like someone when you really hate them, that's a different story. but even then...sometimes someone is gonna piss you off and you're gonna vent about it and then get over it. does that make you two faced because you said something about someone when they annoyed you, but you didn't write them off for it?

its actually called passive-aggressive

and its not just limited to women

symptom of modern 'civil' society IMO

You're wrong, humans completely conquered violence, we're above all of that now.

Totally agree here. And this shit is annoying.

What's so modern about two-facedness and passive aggressive behavior?

If I understood him the way I think he meant, he didn't mean the concepts are modern. Just that the way society has been pacified with regards to confronting people when they take issue with an action.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Sep-15-2009 06:18:

How is that?

Posted by gehzumteufel on Sep-15-2009 06:31:

Because back in the day people would go and settle whatever beef they had with the other person. Over the years, people have gotten soft and avoid it till it is necessary. This just leads to issues being made larger than they really are because it just finally boils over at some point.

"Back in the day?" What makes you think people have gotten any more cowardly about confronting people?

We see it every day in our schools, our offices, etc. You are an asshole for being the one that says "Hey, you fucked up. That was uncalled for" or whatever it is you say. Has happened to myself and many others I know, old and young. Not limited to a specific age group in my experience. I could be way off base, but my grandfather used to complain about this shit too.

And back in the day, meaning 50-60 years ago.

Lawsuits and AVO's

Most people, especially men who go around solving all their problems with confrontation tend to end up being neutered one way or another as society doesn't really let you punch your way through life for very long at least in a westernised country most of you grew up in.

Political correctness is merely a small phase in humanities social norms that I don't think will last very long in westernised culture for very long. Sooner or later the intelligensia that invented it will probably just get killed and eaten by indignant yobbos or foreigners who really just don't give a damn about integration into something they for right or wrong, perceive as being worthless.

The blue collar backlash already happened, and it is fizzling out as we speak.

I'd sort of hope so, most people wander around mumbling out lies and half truths to get by from day to day without trying to upset their neighbours, all the time never establishing a conduit for constructive aggression, self worth and coming to terms with their own deep seated desires to just be accepted for what they are.
Sometimes a few might rise above the cattle and establish themselves as being individuals, but most will move along being non-confrontational amongst their peers, they'll say the things others want to hear, wear the clothes, shiny things to fit in and pamper the nest enough to attract some equally vapid mate.
Because that the real risk.
The final confrontation with ones self to be accepted for ones self.
