Those DJs are booked on friday's since it is already well known that people are going to go out on a friday regardless of whose playing.

Liquified is a buisiness and they are trying to maximize profits.

Above & Beyond didn't have a good turn out either time from what I've heard. Neither did Markus.

The only plurtrance artists that get sizable turnouts here seem to be Armin, PvD, Tijschrist, and Ferry. So the same four harbingers of harmonies and harps that have been thumping the plurtrance scene for a while. It doesn't matter what day of the week it is, it seems those four are the only ones that draw people as far as plurring tits goes.

You can't book people like Gareth Emery and whatnot at smaller venues since they play plurtrance but maybe they could fill up Filter. Though I doubt it, but maybe.

How did j00f and Lawrence do when they were here? I'm assuming the crowd wasn't all that large since we haven't heard anything about them coming back.

Fri. 10.02 - Miguel Migs
Fri. 10.09 - Lee Burridge
Fri. 10.16 - Gene Carbonell
Fri. 10.23 - Spektrum theme event
Wed. 10.28 - Sasha
Fri. 10.30 - George Acosta
Fri. 11.06 - Massive night with 2 live acts and a first ever DJ appearance
Wed. 11.18 - Probably one of the biggest djs in the world right now
Wed. 12.16 - Fedde Le Grand

This is what I was looking for. Maybe it was just because every time I got on there was something new for Charlotte that I was confused. If this schedule had been posted, I wouldn't have had a problem. Looking forward to hearing who this biggest dj in the world is.

Armin @ La Rumba plzzzz

With Dj Irene sweating lesbo tears from her cleavage as she opens/fluffs for Armin.

Kids don't want trance, they want top40/hiphop college nights. Trance doesn't sell here any more than house or techno, save for the top10 trance jocks.

Cosmic Gate was fairly dead as well.

Above & Beyond had a packed house. I drove down for that one. Markus didnt have a overhaul turnout....i bet he still had more people than the plinkity plonk events you guys are claiming that's the "standard" now and what the city really wants. Give me a fuckin break. Markus doesnt pull gazillions of people like tiesto, but rather a normal nice crowd, and that's the proof that trance is out of style ? And looks like Devin just dropped the list again. Looks pretty packed with a plethora of talent from across the board. Case closed.

A&B and Markus are pretty big, aren't they in the top 10? Which explains their decent turnout. But lol, I think there were probably more people at Bazaar for Konrad Black than Cosmic Gate at Opera. I'm pretty sure if you can't even fill Opera halfway, you're going to be losing money.

You trancecrackers are so defensive, lol.

I'm far from a trance cracker. Iv'e been listening to techno for years. I love it. I love trance as well and all the trance jokes cause it's not the "trance golden years" of the late nineties are just old.

Posted by trancension on Sep-21-2009 18:34:

Cosmic Gate was fucked in the ass, they got a reasonably late notice in change from Thursday to Wednesday imo.

Had they stayed at Thursday, I know a good bit more people would've shown.

Yeah, calling people "trendy bandwagon techno snootists" just because they're not into trance is also a little old. can't please everybody.

What Atlanta needs is downtempo weirdness nights.

Fuck house, fuck techno, fuck trance, gimme weird ethereal shit that makes bats come outta clothes and women check their trunks.

When they were at wetbar it was semi packed but it was also a Friday. They play an incredible set that night.

Posted by trancension on Sep-21-2009 20:33:

Some psychedelic, ambient, minimal stuff huh?

Posted by Xevious on Sep-21-2009 20:35:

Haha, tight. Link so I can hear what they play?

But yeah, Trentemoeller would be alright. Dextro, Christian Kleine, Proem, and if this were ever in the realm of possibility, and Devin you should let me know if it is: Boards of Canada.

If someone could get Boards of Canada to play here I would sever whichever limb you guys feel is most viable.

The more I read this, the more it sounds like bitching at the government. Devin is here to make money by having the people at his shows have a good time. Chill.

Boards of Canada would be insane. A live Sissy performance would completely own too.

Posted by Seppuku on Sep-22-2009 05:17:

Does Boards of Canada even play live? But fuck that would be awesome.
