Lolo = Airwave, not Airbase. I think there was a thread at some point talking about the various artists with "Air" in their names. It can definitely lead to confusion.

Posted by Ravist on Sep-24-2009 07:43:

this is what Haak said that started all this:

did i say anything to indicate i'm against trying new things? and do you really call this trying new things? it sounds like all your other tunes except it's emptier. what i meant is why would you make a half-assed tune on purpose? i could understand it if you only wanted to use it in your own sets, but why throw it out for relase then, a-side even? personally i could never call a tune finished untill i think it's really great, but people are different i guess.

half-assed tune? i understand the meaning of constructive criticism but this comment was totally rude, voiced his opinion but was definitely not the nicest way to do so. So all the idiots saying Angello is an asshole you should really read this reply from Haak and really think about it.

Lolo is the guy that made King of Clubs - Revelation (Airwave Remix)

A big trance track amongst DJ's in 2001-2002, namely Tiesto. Also the same guy behind Velvet Girl, Cloud 69, V-One, Green Martian. You should ask HIM for tips, esp if you make trance.

Er... no. That's the only Lolo. But Lolo is not Airbase.

Posted by Sonic_c on Sep-24-2009 08:38:

I made a throwaway comment before regarding a popular producer and I had the label contact me directly (they must have found my email) to see where I got my information from. I removed the post out of respect as i realised that these people or their associates do frequent the web and TA is a popular place. I wasnt being offensive and my information was accurate however the info was private and I didnt think before slashing it around.

I mean imagine your a top dj and some of your friends are members here and there is a thread saying there is proof that you lick windows? It is gonna get back to you even if your not a member.

Posted by DjWoody on Sep-24-2009 08:39:

Cool.. yeah I knew he wasn't Airbase, I dunno why I typed that. lol

And subsequently make you more famous if your music is actually good. Most DJs/Producers are very unadvertised, no one knows them. A little controversey helps, even if its negative. If some girl who never heard of Steve Angello read that thread, and then looked up his music, and found that to her taste his music is good, Steve Angello just gained another fan through people on TA trolling him lol.

It is kinda hard to defame EDM artists, if they actually spin or produce stuff that people who are into that type of music like. So Steve Angello won that thread by a wide margin, even though as an 'artist' he bashed some common folk. And then look how much Deadmau5 get trolled and hated on? Who does it reach? Maybe .000001 of the EDM population, or hardly anyone, and then how many of the people it reaches actuallly care, again if the music is enjoyable to them? The people who lose most are the trolls, losing their souls bashing music and artists of all things imo.

I'll ask again:

Kismet for once you've been on point with everything you've said in here and I fully agree with it all

And yes that Lol track is Airwave. He has a ton of very good aliases as well.

Posted by 4everX on Sep-24-2009 11:56:

Tom Colontonio, Maor Levi ?

Posted by DJ RANN on Sep-24-2009 12:40:

There's actually a ton of major prodcers and DJ's on TA, but a lot of them just lurk, and only chip in when there is a low chance of drama (sadly). James Zabs posted a couple of weeks ago in the DJ forum, angello still posts (contrary to beleif) in certain forums, and a few other big boys post under aliases.

But fuck me, Digi, you're not wrong about Darude - I once mentioned something I'd seen, next thing I know, Nem (nemesis44) tells me to brace myself, and Darude goes in to turbo. That dude can write, but he wasn't a dick at all and in fairness was defneding himself.

What happened with Joel (Mau5) was bang out of order and the small circlejerk of cvnts who caused him to leave were nothing but jealous that he was getting their gigs and becoming succesful. He is a really good guy and a very small group of wankers wrecked any chnce of him posting on TA.

BT used to post on here, and evn someof that kidnap stuff by his family members ware played out on TA.

TA is still the biggest global online community for EDM - many pro's are on here.

Serious props go to Laurent for being atop bloke and always helpful. Goes to show a lot of how you're treated can sometimes depend on how you conduct yourself

Ah, the jealousy thing again...

Mau5 still posts, actually.

Hahaha. That just made my day Steve Angelo is the man.

That's why I don't get into any political, religious, other hot topics or get in fights with people on forums. If I see it happen I just don't post in that thread anymore.

Why go into a fight with someone on the internet when for all I know there are 13-14 year kinds posting on the other end?

Steve IS the man; anyone remember the Paris Hilton incident at WMC this last year? Dude is the truth!

I actually just remembered what the Toronto thread was about. There was a thread about Sandstorm being played at some major event (Superbowl I think) and someone posted a random rumour about him selling the publishing rights, which he promptly set straight. And the first couple of replies, I don't think people realized/believed that he was actually Darude, lol.

I didn't really think of that as drama... it was literally a factual error that he was correcting. While it was interesting and funny to watch that unfold, it was nothing in comparison to the Dave Dresden or Steve Angello hilarity.

Posted by Bren-F on Sep-24-2009 23:06:

There were quite a few from the Producers forums that got signed and released a few tunes over the years, such as Icone, Luke Terry etc..

John O'Callaghan used to post a lot of his tracks back in the day before he was signed.

I also remember chatting to Airbase (no, not Lolo) and John O'Bir on a couple of occasions on here a few years ago.

The Blizzard have posted a few promo mixes in the DJ Booth under a different name (which currently escapes me)

I'm sure Gareth Emery had an account on here at one time as well.

Posted by gsmaverick on Sep-24-2009 23:11:

Does anyone know under what name John O'Callaghan was posting? I'd like to listen to some of his older tracks.

JohnOC

But we're talking like 2002-05-ish, I doubt any of his links are still active.
