I usually pay the outrageous $20 and up fees which is either the main parking lot or the lots across the street

From 9PM, 1hr drive, 1hr parking + local traffic, 45 minutes of lines, you be in just before 12.

I usually arrive at massives around 4pm at the latest. This year, I may have to leave later in the day. I'm a bit over an hours drive away.. If I leave at 9pm, what time would you estimate I'd actually enter the event after all is said and done (traffic @ the exit, getting parking, waiting in line, etc.)?

11-12 sounds like a reasonable estimate. If you get VIP, the lines will be quicker obviously.

I have cleared up my entire Saturday from 3PM to make way for this, going with some old friends from back in the days! Will be crazy for sure, going all out on Monster!

That's a surprisingly good line-up. Whoulda thought?!

anyone got $35 tix for sale still? $70 is way too much in this recession

Posted by RPT on Oct-13-2009 01:11:

Gonna be a sick night for sure. VIP is so worth it BTW

Posted by Nerologic on Oct-13-2009 06:26:

Shiet.

I am tossed between this or Hard.

Hard would be free, but i would almost pay to see Lawler. Fack!

I guess i will wait till we get closer, an SD date might appear. Well at least i hope.

Decisions decisions...

Why!? I went to TAO around 830pm and got in just fine (about a 45 minute wait).

Posted by jimji1005 on Oct-13-2009 23:55:

I got to TAO around 9:45, and I got in by 11:15...

But this year its VIP. So no waiting. Since we did pay for VIP we need to milk every cent out of it, drinking till we are stupid.

Previous Monster Massive?

Hey guys, anyone been to a monster massive event before, I plan on going but ive heard mixed reviews of past events.

Posted by jimji1005 on Oct-14-2009 02:16:

Yeah I been there, have you been to other massives in LA?

Its basically a huge rave. People of all backgrounds. I seen ppl 50yr old going to raves traveling from Spain!

But if you haven't been to a massive, this basically sums it.

Lots of people, no room to dance, hot like hell, tons of drugs and finally, one crazy night.

Massives = best bang for your buck, as in, see lots of DJs for one low price.

Been to three monsters already, and lots of massives. Somehow this line up is the least exciting by far... Even with TV Rock, Steve Lawler, JOC and Armin.

Monster is the worst socal massive to go to. Its VERY crowded and make sure if you want to be on the floor on the main stage, then you better get there early. I have a feeling they are gonna close down the floor very early because of the total capacity this year. Good thing i like house.

It will definitely get quite warm if you stay at the main stage (Sports Arena). But when you leave early in the morning it can be a bit cold especially if there is a little wind and you are sweaty. Make sure you dress appropriately

What's up with the House stage times? Pete Tong and Crystal Castles at the same time 11:00 - 12:30

Posted by BaxStar on Oct-14-2009 18:49:

ya i've been to my fair share of massives out here in cali and even one in texas...but the ones ive been to (nocturnal, audiotistic, how sweet etc.) were a great size at an even better venue, the NOS events center...but what ive heard bout monster is similar to what u guys are saying...overly crowded...and im definitely all about trance which is why i just cant see myself going to HARD, any of you guys plan on going there friday night??
