What the fuck was that.

Posted by Demoted on Oct-11-2009 05:54:

The long and uninvited serpentine and slithering tentacle of trance coursing up your clammy thigh and determining the varicose placement in your sinner synapse.

The sound of live. The sound of stage dive. The sound of Tiesto.

ANGER.

Words cannot express how pissed off I am right now. 4 hours in a line only to have the police tell everyone to get the f$#k out (this happened towards 1am). Not to mention, the line was moving so incredibly slow that even though I got there supposedly when the doors were "open", I still would not have made it into the venue before Tiesto even came on, regardless. The line had no fucking control at all - people walking in randomly off the parking lot - no effort at all to even control this. Were the doors not supposed to be moving by 9pm? The line did not start moving till hours well after that. After attending at least 2 liquified events or more for years now I'm really surprised at this...

I won't even go into the effort I put into organizing my group for this, cause most won't care - But if I don't express some sort of anger right now I'm going to break something.

Someone let me know how his set was... maybe the guy I saw bribe the security guard for $400 can tell me. F#%king shame.

If only it were, Demoted. A two-hour line stalled the sinner synapse stimulation. At the end of this line I didn't hear the sound of Tiesto. Instead, I heard threats from every police officer in Gwinnett County: the crowd would face dogs, pepper spray, and disorderly conduct charges if we failed to disperse.

Here's a video:

Very very disappointed at how this event was handled!!!! We got there 30 mins after Doors Open and never got in. Was forced to disperse and go home

Posted by kckar on Oct-11-2009 10:13:

yeah i agree, and they charged $20 for parking. what a joke. and we waited forever in line, only to come back later and get in. i got my ticket in jly and watched people who got one that night walk right in ahead of me

Posted by Xevious on Oct-11-2009 12:43:

sounds worse than last time. what happened exactly?
can't wait for acosta and gareth though

Posted by Demoted on Oct-11-2009 14:52:

srsly, for those that paid 50 bones that's some serious bullshit. I wonder what was going on before the doors even opened that caught the police's ire so much considering when I went last time the line was already drunk just for the purposes of being buzzed while waiting in line. Maybe they were drunk AND belligerent. So did anyone get in to see anything; was there even a show?

Either way, fuck that mess, hope you all can get your money back or Tiesto decides to return and do some cave rave and bring free snuggies for everyone.

Posted by trancension on Oct-11-2009 14:57:

ROFL

I KNEW LAST NIGHT WAS GOING TO BE A DISASTER!

I can only laugh at anyone dumb enough to spend a collective $70 on Tiesto, especially if they went 2 years ago to this failure of an event.

Posted by Demoted on Oct-11-2009 15:02:

lame joke time

AT LEAST YOU PAID TO HEAR ONE TRAINWRECK THAT NIGHT LOLOLOL

Posted by trancension on Oct-11-2009 15:10:

Capacity was 5,000 right?

How many people do you think got told to go home? 200? 300? 500?

Posted by AlexiM on Oct-11-2009 15:26:

There were at least 500+ still outside, I'd gather to say much more than that. The line still wrapped around half the building when it was shut down.

Which was apparently caused when someone threw a bottle at a window and it injured a girl in line.

Fail event is fail.

Posted by trancension on Oct-11-2009 15:32:

Ya, I'm just curious as to how many people are probably going to want $50 back lol

Probably 700 or 800 by the sounds of it. I wonder how realistic refunds are looking.

eh, sounds about right.

Posted by kckar on Oct-11-2009 15:52:

i got there a little after 10pm, still didnt get in at 1am. watched all these people who didnt have a ticket pay $60 to $80 for a ticket that looked like a raffle ticket, and those people were let in while i sat in line and watched others go in. at 12:45 to 1 the cops told everyone to leave or start arresting people. i came back and finally was let in at 1:30am. when i finally got in, someone had let off a smoke bomb/mustard gas that almost forced a lot of people to leave.

also, had some friends show at midnight. they had to pay $20 for parking (website stated it was gonna be $10).

Posted by guess2009 on Oct-11-2009 16:06:

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT LAST NIGHT!! I'm still in shock and livid. I drove from Nashville to see a long-ass angry crowd trying to get inside the venue. Fuck liquified for this shitty excuse of a show. Those GREEDY Bastards charging people for parking, at first $10 then $20, then guess what, they try to get people to purchase door tickets for $80. Two hours later they told people can get inside for an extra $20 so they can get in first and the people with will-call can wait their asses!? Bullshit. We arrived at 9:30 thinking that the line would be small. WE waited for 3 fucking hours just when the fucking cops threaten to arrest us and told us to go home. They had 20+ assholes directing traffic and 2 people at the front door checking ids and tickets for 1000+ people. I want my money back you pieces of shit, greedy thieves.

Posted by snatonsb on Oct-11-2009 16:08:

No one still answered though was there a show? Did he actually play? Don't worry my show just got canceled too down here scheduled for next weekend.

Posted by kckar on Oct-11-2009 16:13:

yeah there was a show. i heard he went on ~1am. i go in at 1:30. he looked bored for most of it. last hr he really got it going and was pretty awesome, interacting with the crowd, dancing, etc (most people had left). he played till 4:45ish

Posted by Demoted on Oct-11-2009 16:13:

Haha, oh man the drama.

I wouldn't blame Devin/Liquified outright. They probably hired a separate company to handle the tickets/door policy. Admittedly, he should have had more oversight on it due to the debacle last time and how long it took will-call to get in when other people who bought their tickets that night were getting in before us, but nonetheless, it's not ENTIRELY his fault. The parking price probably wasn't his fault either. I generally thought that admission was used to pay back the cost of getting the dj and the actual profits gotten from a show is usually through drink sales (though I could be entirely wrong).

As for the cops, it sounds like the 'tards in line instigated that mess.

In any case -- MOAR VITTTEEEEOOOHHHS

Posted by mistiso on Oct-11-2009 16:14:

Seems to me like Devin's silence on this matter is speaking volumes right now.

I've gathered a few things from this:

Someone said they saw someone buy tickets at the event and get in. Yet, all we hear about all week, via forums, Facebook, etc, is how there are supposedly only 25 tickets left...get one now...it's almost sold out! Utter bullshit.

Liquified probably over-booked the venue, failing simple first grade math, bringing in the reinforcements, and making the people who actually PAID AHEAD for tickets to disburse.

Hey, it's not THEIR fault you didn't show up 4 hours EARLY to get in line, right? In the end, when they don't give you a refund, that'll be their excuse.

Apparently something happened in line to cause the rukus? Or was it just because people were getting angry for having to wait so long and pay even more money to get in?

Why didn't they PLAN AHEAD for the large amounts of people that they sold tickets to, and have police there to begin with to help control things?

Was the whole event shut down when this happened (i.e. did they force people OUT of the NATC or just the ones outside waiting to get in?)?

Bottom line...whether it's 1, 100, or 1000 people who were denied entry to the show:

Liquified = EPIC FAIL.

Posted by AlexiM on Oct-11-2009 16:16:

^Yeah he still went on.. sounded like around 12:30-12:45 from what I could judge from the line right outside...

They only screwed over the hundreds outside - I'm out 150 dollars for the 3 tickets I paid for (tried to introduce 2 friends to the music...), and I plan to get every cent back.

Posted by guess2009 on Oct-11-2009 16:22:

The answer to whether "the show" was actually cancelled is NO. When I left I can see from the side door the crowds having a blast inside. Then of course the cops told us not to stand at the doors. When it all comes down to it, it was all about the money.

Posted by Demoted on Oct-11-2009 16:25:

So probably about 4000 made it in and none of them were TAs

Posted by Caution_BiPolar on Oct-11-2009 16:31:

Wow, I'm glad I didn't go. My ass would have went to jail if I was told to leave after paying that much. I've tried to fight refunds before (in my case I had half my face ruined and my ID stolen on NYE, figured someone would have a heart and refund the insane amount I paid), and it really doesn't happen.

I did get it taken care of the next year, I recall getting into the NYE event or something else for free. I hope you guys can get something for your hassle.
