it was ok

if you haven't been keeping up with the drama going on around the club district over the past few years i'm sure it was an eye opener

for those of us, i'm sure most of us, who are aware of what's been going on it didn't really offer anything new to the issues

the interviews with gatien and khabouth were good..would rather have seen more time spent talking with them than showing the guys trying to pick up inside the clubs...we already know why people go to the clubs

the problem with the politics involved with closing the clubs is that most of people who want them shut down can vote for that, the people who don't, can't, as most don't live in the area and don't have a say

anyone who thinks that building across from guv is going to be condos is stupid. the building belongs to Corus Entertainment and is their new headquarters. if you dont know what that is then i suggest you look it up and stop spreading condo rumours.

there is even a big sign that says CORUS on the fence that surrounds the site.

This is true. However they are currently bulding condos just down the street and if you look at the artist rendering on the construction fences, the condos stretch all the way up to Loblaws.

Now these are just renderings but the construction down at sherbourne is already underway.

There is no doubt the area is about to see major change, but the question is how will it impact guv?

unfortunately, many young people could care less about municipal elections. Only grumpy old ******s, like myself, seem to care and vote.

Major changes and when it is all done there will be no more Guv (at least in its current location).

The East Bayfront development.

This is the specific area that will affect Guv.

Sugar Beach

no condos are being built yet. the only ones that have been announced is rivercity by Urban Capital and designed by Saucier+Perrotte, which isn't anywhere near the guv or where you're saying.

the stuff that you're seeing now is 1. the corus building and sugar beach 2. sherbourne park and 3. soon to be a building for george brown college.

other than that, no plans have been announced for the bayside and parkside parcels of land in the east bayfront community.

Go to one of the free proxy sites, use a Canadian one, and you're good to go.

History lesson for everyone ....

If you don't learn from the past, history will repeat itself

in this case, the Rave Politics are coming back for all the top40, gino and hiphop clubbers.

Exactly..

and its the rave politics that got me into politics in the first place.

The lies and untruths that were told to serve the interests of the politicians involved as well as the media made me wonder what else we were being force fed.

Its one reason why im libertarian and very wary of government interference in lifestyle choice.

Not everything has been approved yet but a lot has and they are moving forward and I don't think Guv will be able to be located there once things get to a certain point. It doesn't meant the end of Guv, but maybe just a change.

I bet it will be like Utah or other places in the states where clubs close down at 12am, WTF.

I don't party as regularly as I used to but still, it will SUCK. If this is the case it will just go underground...

Maybe if you send them a dollar. Since Canwest filed for bankruptcy protection today they would probably take that dollar. LOL
