And no where close to 7000 people in that place!!
He announced that he had 15 minutes remaining, he played traffic and left.. leaving about 13 more minutes from the end!!! which I didn't understand.
That party was alright.. he does put on a good show I guess

First hour and a half he played ALLLL of his new songs from his new cd.. he might as well have not come and just put the cd for us to listen to...

then he played:

Tiesto - Traffic
Tiesto - Adiago For Strings
Tiesto - Elements of Life
Delerium - Silence ft. Sarah McLachlan (Tiesto Mix)
System F - Out of the Blue
Deadmau5 - Strobe
Electrixx - Tetris (Original Mix)
Wippenberg - Chakalaka
Tiesto - Flight 643 (Laidback Luke Edit)
Others I can't remember right now

AND tune of the night:
Nenez & Pascal Feliz - Platinum (Tech Mix)

When does Tiesto plays past 3 or 4? when he's in Montreal ( from 1-6:30AM) Ibiza till sunrise...LA he went till 5.. maybe all you guys have never experienced him outside TORONTO before? you have to compare him with other GIGS

I'm tossed between wishing I could have gone and glad I didn't go by the sounds of the reviews.

Sounds like you're an idiot with too much money, and it's idiots with too much money that pay $100+ for a "vip" ticket that keeps this douchebag dj thinking he can keep charging exorbitant prices whilst pumping out ever more infuriating crap music. Just stop it.

Why are you getting so defensive?

Posted by torontobarfly on Oct-05-2009 02:31:

tiesto has played extended sets before in toronto...he did a 6 hour set a few years ago at the docks, now sound emporium...but it was advertised well in advance as an extended set

Posted by meidan on Oct-05-2009 02:45:

very good show imo...from what I see alot of the people here clearly are way over their head with expectations. We are in effing toronto, how often do we have trance events?
I really enjoyed it, this guy really knows how to pump a place up, even when I was tired already from dancing this guy pumped up some tracks that re-energize you

Tegan and Sara - Back in your head (Tiesto remix)
Tiesto - Traffic
Tiesto ft. C.C. Sheffield - Escape Me (Extended Mix)
Tiesto - Adiago For Strings
Tiesto ft. Calvin Harris - Century
Tiesto - Elements of Life
Breakfast - Remember
Kernkraft 400 - Zombie Nation (Laidback Luke Remix)

Calvin Harris - I'm not alone (Tiesto Remix)

Eric Prydz - Pjanoo (Dada Life Remix)
Tiesto - Flight 643 (Laidback Luke Edit)
Basement Jaxx - Raindrops (Robbie Rivera Full Vocal Remix)
Ingsha - Niavara (Manuel Le Saux Remix)

All in all a great night....

Honorable mention goes to Adam K who tore it up in the beginning as well, real tragic that people kept chanting for Tiesto during his set...

and dont for get it was an all age's event so i'm guessing 80 % of the crowd were teen agers
so they had to be home early knowing that there parents wont pick them up at 6am that's why he
started at 11:00 and ending at 3:00 back in the day when he played at the docks and it was a 19 + event
he would come on from 1:30 or 2:00 and end at 6:30 or so

Posted by Beings on Oct-05-2009 03:45:

I went simply to check out the venue. Very very spacious, lots of parking easy to get to.

Even though it was all ages, a lot of older crowd. Very few groups of teeny boppers.

Staying in the line up was a blast, I was told by everyone that tiestor is number 1 in the world, and even awesome stories on how he gives out his headphones after the set. He is basically like jesus, with more humanitarian and awesome mixing skills.

Got in around 10:30. Someone was playing some techy'ish house. The crowd still chanted Tiesto every 5 seconds. One guy was bent on trying to make me go deaf yelling into my ear.

I think Tiesto started around 11:20ish. intro was decent. Some classics were played, but a lot were remixed. Liked the fact that he ended the set at around 2:50. People started chanting for him to come back for an encore. Of course he never showed up.

Anyways, it was as expected. Good venue tho.

lol congratulations on your "accomplishments". More than half of the people on this board have done the same as you, so no need to give us your credentials for why you think you know more about the the other people on here.

A pretty easy one considering he's used the same riff twice before, here you go.

Sorry to break it to you, but Tiesto has been in it for the money for a long time now, and if you didn't know that by now, you should get with the times.

Since when did you become the official Tiesto biographer?

Posted by ArminD1981 on Oct-05-2009 04:51:

Tiesto is not the same anymore, He sucked big time here in NYC, what a freaking disappointment. by looking at the reviews from Boston, Montreal and Toronto I know a lot of people agrees with me, and the tracklist is the same exact shit he played in all these cities mentioned above

BTW how many times you've seen Tiesto performance doesn't make you an expert, what really matters its since when did you started listening to him 7 times is nothing , you got a long way to go.

he's touring dude, a lot of dj's, artists, bands etc will play the same tracks in almost every city. small variations will happen, but its more or less the same. especially if its a cd release tour.

Posted by torontobarfly on Oct-05-2009 05:37:

how many times someone's seen a dj is irrelevant since we're talking about one gig here

if people had a good time and feel like they got their money's worth then that's all that matters

as far as only being in it for the money i don't know of any big name dj that tours for free...athletes, actors and bands all love what they do but they also do their best to make as much money as they can while doing it

Posted by ~C~ on Oct-05-2009 06:11:

Of course the same tracks were played in every city. The lighting and visuals were planned, the order of the tracks were planned. It was a show/concert, not a typical live DJ set.

Anyone that avoided the venue because it was too large, made a big mistake. The only recognized venue for trance in T.O. is Guv, and honestly, Arrow Hall is MUCH better. I only caught one real rave when i got into the scene at the Better Living Arts Centre many years ago, and this venue is the closest thing i'm come across that gives you that old school rave experience (that i wish i had gotten more of back in the day). AMAZING VENUE. Best in the GTA, hands down.

OK review. It was pretty disappointing compared to his set @ Ricoh. Good SHOW for sure. It was still worth the $50, but, i hated the first 1 hour +!! Tiesto's new album is clearly hugely playing on the 80's trend, and obviously appeals to a younger crowd. Which hey, i can't blame him at all for choosing to go in that direction to maintain his mass popularity with the NEXT generation of Tiesto fans.

Ppl watching was fucking awesome at this show. Made my night. And Tiesto playing Adagio For Strings, Flight 643, TRAFFIC !!!!!, and Elements of Life was enough for me to be satisfied.

RICOH SET>>>>>>>>> ARROW HALL SET. God, his new album is so bad. Thank god he finished the show with some classics!

Posted by ~C~ on Oct-05-2009 06:29:

FLIGHT 643 !!!!!!! so good.

This is why ppl watching was so amazing. Messy Tiesto Hoecakes everywhere. This is a vid of a girl dancing with electrical cords like it's a stripper pole. She falls at the end, so great.

no idea how a dj is supposed to be fresh and pumped for each show with a sched like that

also, saw on the news that several ambulances were dispatched to arrow hall as people were having bad reactions to drugs...at least that's what was reported on the news

know your dealer people

After all these years you're still defending your god dj...
