I watched it on DIVX, liked it a bit,

But:

I DO think it's a huge bad rip-off from Trainspotting! Everybody! Go and watch Trainspotting!!!!!!!!!!

Greetz, Kamaya.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Jul-02-2002 12:47:

i agree...trainspotting IS the movie hehe..
i like human traffic alot thoo can not deny that
as for comparing groove to human traffic? impossible.
two completely different scenes.
groove is more directed to the rave scene here in the USA
the rave scene in the UK tends to be more "clubbish"
here in the states a rave and a club are two completely different things. however, not speaking from experience cuz i've never been to the uk, to me it seems that "clubbing" and "raving" is closely associated with the electronic music scene.
just my $.02

I finally watched Human Traffic last week.
I liked it, the character Moff was hilarious. One of my favorite lines was something like "I don't need a g/f, Cause Music is my sex and I can go all night long!"

There is Energy 52 - Caf Del Mar in this movie isnt it?
right so...
IT CANT BE BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Spad on Jul-06-2002 10:51:

Have to disagree, the movie is just what it was supposed to be. A realistic film about UK club culture. I don't think anybody ever claimed it was a "rave movie". I'd call it a "weekend movie", and it pretty much sums up what your average UK 18-25 year old does between Friday and Monday. I can pretty much relate to every scene in some way...basically the film is wicked.

Human Traffic ownz j00

I love when it starts to get all preachy about the club scene and pills and stuff .. good to get parents to watch so they hear those opinions coming from someone who isn't u for a change

"So what do I call you? Bullet? Tony?"
"You can call me Susan if it makes you happy."

Posted by Az on Jul-06-2002 16:15:

the weekend has landed.
all that exists now is clubs, drugs, pubs and parties. i've got 48 hours off from the world, man. i'm gonna blow steam out of my head like a screaming kettle. i'm gonna talk shit to strangers all night. i'm gonna lose the plot on the dance floor. the free radicals inside me are freaking man. i'm goin' to never never land with my chosen family. we're gonna get more spaced out than neil armstrong ever did. anything could happen tonight, you know. this could be the best night of my life. i've got 73 pounds in my back pocket and i'm gonna spend the lot.
the milky bars are on me

TV interviewer: Why do you come to these nights?
Lulu: I'd like to answer that one if I may.
Nina: Sure.
Lulu: To get absolutely trashed.

Posted by grafal on Jul-06-2002 23:32:

The movie is kinda boring, it needs more clubbing...from what I remember u see like 5 mins of Carl Cox as Pablo (Owner of a night club), and then you see maybe 5 mins of some nice clubbing...other then that the movie aint great.

Personally this is one of my favourite movies, I'd highly recommend at least giving it a view. The director has an interesting way of getting different moods and ideas across (the voiceover/dreamsequence bits are hilarious), funny dialogue, its got a great soundtrack, and its highly quoteable. I said.... NICE ONE BROTHA!!

yeah. The whole style is horrible. Story line isnt that great. If it had more to do with rave culture, it would be better. But even if I wasnt expecting a rave movie, it would be bad. No offense UKTAs, but the British arent known for the good film productions (cept the Monty Python woot!) I like the music that plays though. I dunno. I think its a C grade video. It has some weird shit, and the people arent good looking lol. Feels like an amateur film

it's not about rave culture. it's about club culture in the uk.. which can be loosely applied to u.s. rave culture when it came out.

dood the scene with the guys trying to get in on the herb is class and on the spot for sure..

this happens so many times:

Justin Kerrigan: We wanna go somewhere else. We're not threatened by people anymore. All our insecurities have evaporated. We're in the clouds now. We're wide open. We're spacemen orbiting the earth. The world looks beautiful from here, man. We're nympholeptics, desiring for the unobtainable. We risk sanity for moments of temporary enlightenment. So many ideas. So little memory. The last thought killed by anticipation of the next. We embrace an overwhelming feeling of love. We flow in unison. We're together. I wish this was real. We want a universal level of togetherness, where we're comfortable with everyone. We're in rhythm. Part of a movement. A movement to escape. We wave goodbye. Ultimately, we just want to be happy. Heh, yeah hang on, what the fuck was I just talking about?
