I'd be happy to do it for Production Studio. I've run my own forum for several years in the past, and I think other people here consider me fair and just without being overly emotional. I'm on the forum all day long anyway, so....

Posted by EgosXII on Oct-08-2009 00:24:

eric j or diginut for sure, agree with diginut about seperating the mods too..

i've looked at the dj forum only a couple of times but am in the production one multiple times a day..

Hey Swamper, how's the new forum design coming along? :P :P :P

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Oct-08-2009 01:40:

Oh, give it a rest.

Posted by mfitterer1 on Oct-08-2009 02:15:

I agree that Sushipunk should be the mod for the dj promotion forum at a minimum. May as well make him the mod for both promotion forums just to keep things simplified.

For the other mod I think DigiNut would be a good choice but he has done his share of aligning sides in the past. Knowledge wise he is the superior choice for the production forum. He also isn't on here all the time so it seems.

If you're looking for a more level headed choice that is on all the time; go for MrJiveBoJangles. He seems to be the ideal choice as he seems a bit more low key and mellow than digi. he is also posting every 2.5 seconds

I've run websites and forums in the past and if I had the time would love to do it but I think the three guys I listed above would be very good choices to keep things going well around here.

I nominate DJ Robby Rox and Kismet.. honestly it would be the funniest thing ever with those two in charge.. really spice things up here

There haven't been any huge problems in there, just the occasional spam thread, or threads linking to radio shows etc, but they'd be easy enough to clean up/move to an appropriate place.

I'm happy to help people out with hosting their mixes too, since Sendspace/Megaupload/etc seem to be blocked at a lot of people's work computers, and are a bit sketchy sometimes anyway.

I can do the same as Stu in the hours when he is not available do to time difference. I also have plenty of space and bandwidth available on my server

Yeah, I definitely add Eric J to my list of excellent candidates.

Meh, have to be honest and say I get worked up occasionally as well on some topics. But I don't hold grudges and would treat people fairly even if I disagreed with them.

I'd have no problems with Eric J or MrJiveBoJingles. They're both here often, and seem level-headed.

Diginut would be fine, though occasionally he goes on a bit of a rant...mostly he's fine though.
I'd be happy for him to be a mod.

I'm sure some of the other guys who have put up their hands would also do a great job, I just don't see them posting as often as Eric or JBJ.

cryo +1

I can Mod all 4!
I am there every day anyways!
PM me!

Posted by Kismet7 on Oct-08-2009 04:27:

MrJiveBoJingles? lol

grumpy music nazi, might as well nominate a distant relative of Hitler.

Production forum, Cryophonik seems to probably the only neutral level headed knowledged person suitable for being a MOD, that spends enough time there. Also he has both software and hardware setup, and the biggest issues arise from hardware vs software debates. Maybe Eric J, since he seems responsible. Otherwise Production forum is rather well self moderated.

Also, it just occurred to me...Sushi and I can host sets from people that want to BUT you will have to be an active member in the forum. That means that you will download and make constructive comments on other people's mixes before earning the right to decent hosting.

Posted by Nightshift on Oct-08-2009 04:43:

Kismet a mod isnt there to settle debates or supposed to deliver all-knowing knowledge (although they are welcome to participate), a mod is there to keep the spam out and regulate threads that are either getting out of hand or reoccurrying too often, from what I understand.

Sounds fair enough to me. Actually, it tends to be kind of like that already. It's only the more regular posters there (and the COR) that know you and I are able to host stuff

But yeah, I agree. It'd be a bit weird hosting for someone that just joined up that day to get their mix hosted

Well you don't like him; that's good enough reason for his selection alone.

Cryo has already stated he doesn't have the time.

Posted by Domesticated on Oct-08-2009 05:53:

Woscar and Sushi would be a good combo. Though Woscar might start banning people because they look like a gay.

Posted by kitphillips on Oct-08-2009 06:27:

This has been an ongoing debate around here for a while. Swamper, I seriously doubt 2 mods for 4 forums is anywhere near adequate. Anyone you pick will be out of favour for at least 2 of the forums, there's no crossover for the DJing or promo sections. I've never really visited the promo or DJ sections more than 10 times in the time I've been on here.

Incidentally, I think this thread showed what the production forum wants. http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...light=moderator

and this one
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...light=moderator

and this one
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...light=moderator

Hope this works out and we get some people who'll actually do a good job...

PS
I don't know who half the people being mentioned actually are
