Unfortunately this has become the norm....the cultural aspect of this event is completely lost on the younger crowd who think its just another reason to get shitfaced

The one on Friday at Waterloo Rec Hall was pretty bad. No atmosphere at all, just a bunch of tables lined up in the middle of a skating rink. Beer was expensive, music sucked, and it's like they didn't even try to keep it cultural like the real thing. Best part was that tickets were only $5, though I would've preferred free

I needed to boycott Oktoberfest this year -- maybe it was the fact that it's not been fun any of the five or six times I went out in the previous two years. Maybe it's the fact that it's sponsored by Molson Canadian (German festival, and the worst of the domestic beer-market for the festivities; honestly, I'd prefer to sip on a glass of urine). Maybe it's the fact that you always seem to somehow run into everyone you don't want to see! Haha. Either way, mission accomplished.

Hahaha - never been to a authentic Oktoberfest event, but i have been having my own oktoberfest in Parkdale this weekend with my westcoast crew!
