This is really, really sad. I must say, though, that I'm not surprised.

I find this choice to be incredibly funny. How you can command a military in two wars/occupations and win a fuckin' PEACE PRIZE is beyond me.

bah! you beat me to it!

Obama was chosen not for substantive accomplishments, but for inspiring "hope" at the start of his term

haha, this is the best line ever to give out an award.

"we're gonna give you an award for something you haven't done, well, not yet. Wait, no, you don't even have to do it, but it's important that people believe you have the intention of doing it. Can you think you can do that?"

Do you guys think they had a raffle to see who would win the prize?

I bet Alfred Nobel is shitting a brick or two right now!

This decision was made on the same day he won the Noble Peace Prize--and putting aside all the reasons why he doesn't deserve this prize; this is absolutely the right call.

in his defense, the best way to get peace is to kill all the people that piss you off.

The best was this past Saturday's SNL skit with "Obama" going through all the things he's done since he's been president, which amounted to absolutely nothing. He has literally done nothing.

oh jeez cale, lets not get too overexaggerated here.

while I completely agree that he didnt deserve it, unfortuately we have the most effed up system and its takes forever to change things here, particularly if the ideas are liberal, for the people, against the rich, etc etc(you see my point here?).

Its not that Obama hasnt done **anything**, its just that it takes a lot of behind the scenes work to have any sort of siginifcant change here (which is really quite unfortunatel. I just think too many people are retarded and thought we was going to have these huge changes right away, and they dont realize how unrealistic that is....I still think he is moving a bit to slow for my tastes, but hpoefully the end product will reflect why we all voted for him in the first place.

I also found it nice that he at least said his 2 cents about not yet deserving it, and gave his huge check for the prize, to charity. now THAT is noble.

My eyes are not able to roll far enough back in their sockets to adequately express how I felt reading this.
